Cities you've always wanted to live in...

Postby watts » 30 Aug 2019, 12:46

I moved last year to Boston from Montana and have been settling in to my new home nicely. Since transplanting myself 2583 miles (4157 kilometers) across the country, I had a little bit of a culture shock because the east coast is fundamentally so different than the west coast I grew up in. It's nearly like living in a foreign country. I'm enjoying it but it is very different than the laid-back, accepting vibe of the West coast. I have yet to visit some of the cities on the East coast I've always wanted to see, but this weekend my unadventurous husband is off to Manhattan and then DC and I'm dead jealous.

It got me thinking about places I would like to visit, cities specifically that I would like to live-in or at least visit and stay long enough to really get to know.

What cities in the world have you always wanted to visit or get to know and why?

Scenically magnificent and a great place to get away from nearly everybody! Or Manitoulin Island, the largest freshwater island in the world, across the channel.

There are probably a hundred. When I win £125m on euromillions, I could buy a house in say Manhattan, live there for a year, then sell it and move to Venice. Then Edinburgh. Then Santiago. Usw.

Rome.
If I could have my time back I'd have done my degree there or something similar.
