1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?

4. What are you doing this weekend?

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake?

Rip off

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?
It's really not an American expression, at least not one that I've commonly heard.

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?
When it over rides the other flavors in the dish.

4. What are you doing this weekend?
Depends on the weather ... usually take a nature walk, work in the garden, watch sports either live on tv. No concerts or events of interest this weekend.

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake?

Marimekko .. I used to buy their sheet all the time but that was in another life. I've completely 'forgotten' about them but will keep a lookout for their sheets and pillows.

Blimey, I really don't read enough Japanese authors, both of them are new to me.

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?
I am teetotal, but I bought a bag of crisps once. Tasted better than usual, because it was a small bag and rather expensive. I savored it more that way.

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?
I don't know, but celibacy sucks.

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?
When you can't talk freely with someone.

4. What are you doing this weekend?
I dunno, maybe a flea market. And the Sunday matinee for my parents, maybe I will stream a Japanese classic.

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake?
I can picture Marimekko, but I am not interested.

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?

Total ripoff. But you knew that anyway.

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?

I can't remember the last time I heard the expression. I think it died off around the turn of the 70's to 80's didn't it?

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?

Where you can smell it more than a room away.

4. What are you doing this weekend?

Spending a weekend with Linda on the coast and enjoying life.

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake?

No idea. Try this though.

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?
the two often go hand in hand.

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?
this is the first time I ever heard it so it seems to me the expression is on the march!

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?
I think if you start having hallucinations you might cut back a bit.

4. What are you doing this weekend?
the same thing I do every weekend -- try to take over the world!!!

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake?

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?

Total rip off

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?

Can’t remember the last time I heard it but I doubt that it has died out entirely.

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?

I haven’t found out yet.

4. What are you doing this weekend?

Hopefully not housework. We’ve just had all our windows renovated and the clear up has taken up the last two weekends.

5. Marimekko or Isley Myake

I’m a Jo Malone only guy.

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence? - Complete rip-off.

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared? - "Having it off" is how we refer to opening a jar of pickles around here.

3. How much garlic is too much garlic? - Is there such a thing as "too much garlic"?

4. What are you doing this weekend? - Back into the recording studio for (hopefully) final overdubs and little fiddly bits.

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake? - We used to have a few Marimekko fabric pieces stretched on frames and hung on the walls in our house when I was growing up. I always loved 'em. Still do.

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?

Both, innit? Justifiable - you're on holiday. Ripoff - they prey on our deepest weaknesses, which involve paying 5 large ones for a small bag of dill flavoured crisps at 1am just because the packaging is nice.

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?

The last person I heard saying it was either me or Angie from Eastenders.

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?

When my cats wince at me. Otherwise it's all good.

4. What are you doing this weekend?

Catching up on the things that a two week holiday has caused us to ignore.

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake?

Issey Miyake, though I've never owned owt.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

Pretty sure they cost more than that!

I was watching an old episode of The Sweeney yesterday and a 'Mrs' - one who 'always looks the bleedin' same' funnily enough - used that very expression.

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?

I appreciate that they're there, though I pretty much never indulge in them because of the cost. Usually, I'll bring my own bottle for the room, or I'll just plan on hanging out at the hotel bar.

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?

I don't think I've heard it in at least 7 years - my mum used to use that expression, and she passed away in 2012.

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?

Depends on the context and preparation, doesn't it? I could eat a LOT of garlic that's been boiled in a crawfish boil (easily a whole head, if not more) or roasted, but wouldn't each much raw garlic that's not part of a bigger dish. But I do love garlic.

4. What are you doing this weekend?

Serving as a roadie to move a ton of equipment into the school where next week's Girls Rock Camp Houston will be taking place. Going to a Saturday-Night celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Apollo 11, including a screening of the new film of the same name. And yard work.

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake?

I don't know either well enough to pick! Both are pretty nifty, from what I do know, though I'm not sure either really fits with my style.

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?

Unless someone else is paying, I avoid them. Ripoff.

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?

Never heard it in my life.

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?

When you find it, let me know.

4. What are you doing this weekend?

Doing my usual Saturday gig in Burbank, going for a hike at some point, cleaning the house.

5. Marimekko or Issey Miyake?

Once again I have no clue what either of those things are.

1. Hotel minibars - a screaming ripoff or a justifiable indulgence?
ripoff - I've stayed in tons of hotels over the years. Only time we ever used a hotel minibar or snack was after hiking 25 miles and driving another hour to my hotel and was so beat and barely could walk that I settled for a beer and snack from the mini bar and then passed out for 12 hours.

2. When was the last time you actually heard anyone referring to sex as ‘having it off’? Has the expression disappeared?
yikes not heard that expression in several decades

3. How much garlic is too much garlic?
no such thing although might effect me more now as my body seems more sensitive to stuff now.

4. What are you doing this weekend?
hibernating from the heat although will go to the pool for awhile. I've got a camera shoot on Sunday on Bannerman Island - Island on the Hudson river with old ruins, but might cancel.
