Long Story Story Short

Had an accident on my girl's bike and ended up with a broken pelvis. I've been in the hospital more than two weeks and my wife just handed me a gift of a lifetime, my old MacBook and a pocket wi-fi. I knew from the hundreds of "Where's Jimbo?" (Thanks Count!) threads you were worried but I was unable to let you know my state until now. I'll be in rehab for six more months. Hospitals everywhere are wild but this Japanese joint is comedy gold. 4PM is when we must put on our pajamas. I think I'm getting better everyday. The food is getting worse. The rehab chicks are like the chicks in an Elvis movie - and seeing those, young, cute, pretty, smiling and cheerful faces urging me on for just five more steps is like chicken soup for my dick. Not being too sexist am I? Anyway, I'm glad to be back and look forward to reading your threads.

What were you doing on your daughter’s bike?

Every guy in Japan who is real guy rides a girls bike. Crossbar? I don't need no stinkin' crossbar! Just a basket and a bell will do for me, thanks.

I have to admit I was beginning to get a bit concerned.

Get well soon, Jimbo.

Just five more steps every day and you'll be back on that girly bike in no time. Good to see ya, James.

Can't you pretend not getting better? I'd stay another year if I were you.

And stop complaining about the food.

Hmmmm.... What’s the real story? I wonder.

I must admit I’ve been too preoccupied with the Prog Cup to notice your absence :D

That sounds like a nasty bike accident, how on earth did you manage that? Seems like a lot of rehab required so I hope that goes well and you have a full recovery. At least I know there’s one place in Japan that serves lousy food: hospital!

Glad to hear you are OK. Hope you are not in too much pain Jim. If you have a broken pelvis I would keep your libido on a low burn. You don't want to make things any worse than they are...

I think that the "Where's Jimbo" thread is on Coan's board.

Wishing you a speedy recovery ... wishing your wife patience.

Welcome back. :D

Sounds nasty, but glad you are getting better.
At least they aren't making you regimented exercise routines yet, but that will surely come

A better wish never wished for in the history of wishes. She has been a saint and I have been a snarky, sarcastic, downer ever since this thing began. After she said yesterday that my words were "like weapons" my mind was opened (just a smidge) and I will try my best to stifle myself even when I know what I am making is "just a joke." She doesn't think my jokes are funny at all. She is holding it all together with her full-time job, the piles of paperwork this stupid accident has brought about, not to mention a truckload of other stuff she's got to contend with. Bless her.

None of this - NONE of this would have happened if not for a teensy lack of patience on my part. I wanted to go around some pedestrians and there was a driveway extension into the highway so going around them would be a breeze. I checked the highway and there was no traffic and so I proceeded to go around the couple. On the way back up onto the sidewalk the front tire slipped and I landed on my pelvis which smashed up and into my hip bone and broke into enough pieces the MD needed only thirty-something titanium screws to reattach shit. UNFUCKING REAL. A broken blood vessel and I'd be dead they said. Luckiest thing was my accident involved no other pedestrians, cars or other traffic. Only I got hurt.

Right now I have a ton of rehab work to make my left leg as strong as my right. Everyone knows what a hard worker I am so no worries there.

You'll be amazed what you are capable of when you have no choice.
