1. What’s the longest amount of time you can happily sit in the bath?
Depends. Is there any water in it? In my current rented house, the bath is too small for me, basically, so I use the shower over it. The new house has two bathrooms, including a jaccuzi, so I will be able to keep clean and still have a place keep the coal
2.What are you up to this weekend, then?
Going to check out our new house.
3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?
Onions number one, eggs number two, but I'd like to try my hand at pickling all sorts of stuff
4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?
Nah. Wasn't particularly fond of swings when I was a kid: More of a slide and climbing frame daredevil. Besides, weird-looking unaccompanied old geezers with a cute dog aren't generally welcome in kiddies' playgrounds.
5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke?
Front crawl is the one I used most often, backstroke when I wanted to relax in the water, but lack of facilities mean I haven't swum at all in the last five years or so.

1. What’s the longest amount of time you can happily sit in the bath? - About a minute before I hate it. That's why we don't have a bathtub.

2.What are you up to this weekend, then? - Not much. B is helping her mother move into a seniors' home (there are pro movers involved so I'm off the hook), so I'll spend Saturday loafing around, tidying the house, doing small chores etc. until it's time to go play hockey at 10pm. Sunday will be pretty much the same, minus the hockey.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat? - Are olives pickled? If so, then definitely olives. If not, then it's Strub's Full Sour Dill Pickles.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it? - No.

5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke? - The 'trying desperately to get from A-to-B'.

If you've got nothing to do, don't do it here.

Pickled food. For fuck's sake, what kind of low-standard bastard came up with that idea? "Ooh, ooh, I know, I can preserve food, it lasts for ages. All you have to do is take a big jar of rancid acid, take a nice fresh, crisp and tasty foodstuff, and stick it in there until everything that was good and wholesome has been obliterated by a poisonous stench". There you go, good as new. Why did that catch on? Really, what the fuck went on there, it's not right, it's not big, and it certainly isn't clever.

Y'know, just last week my wife asked me if you can put pickled onions in minestrone soup. It was the low-point of our marriage so far.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I only take showers but I can last about a half hour in a hot tub/Jacuzzi.

Watching NFL conference championships and Australian Open tennis, looking for bootleg music, practicing guitar, and activities associated with wife's birthday and daughter's visit from Brooklyn.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?

None, not a fan of pickled things.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?

1. What’s the longest amount of time you can happily sit in the bath?

I'm a shower person so not very long. When I was kickin' the oxy my leg muscles were twitching which made sleep impossible so I would sit in the tub with epsom salts and the hottest water I could stand and I managed 20 minutes. Rebecca on the other hand has an elaborate process of getting the bathroom super steamy before getting in and she can spend an hour in the bath with a book and a glass of wine.

2.What are you up to this weekend, then?

Tomorrow a bossa nova band is playing at my friend's cidery so I'm going to dj Brazilian music before hand and between their sets. Plus R is coming over for some hanky panky before the show.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?

I'm not a huge fan of pickled things so I'd have to say the sliced cucumber one gets in a Japanese restaurant because it's mild and sometimes has a bit of sesame oil in it to make it more interesting.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?

Not really but it could happen.

5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke?

I've never done a lot of swimmng in my life though I'm capable. Since I peel and burn instead of tan water sports have never been my thing although I did my fair share in my youth living on the Gulf Coast back then.

1. What’s the longest amount of time you can happily sit in the bath?

I take about one bath every five years. Maybe.
Ten minutes?

2.What are you up to this weekend, then?

We are going to SA to hang with my mom and brother overnight on Saturday since we didn't really see each other during the holidays. Apart from that, and through the MLK holiday, I'll be working on a paper for a conference in February. It's due on the 21st and I've had to do a lot of research, so it's a little nerve wracking. And I'm answering these questions as part of a tiny break from it.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?

Cucumbers, obviously. But I'll eat any old thing if its pickled. I can't believe people aren't into it.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?

Certainly not. I'm 44 and uptight.

5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke?

I like swimming on my side. That one.

I only have about 2 baths a year (showers, otherwise) but around an hour at a time.

2.What are you up to this weekend, then?

Bit of housework then out for coffee and cake.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?

Pears. Pickled pears are lush.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?

If I can get away with it, yes.

5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke?

The “trying not to drown”.

2.What are you up to this weekend, then?
Saw Mary Queen of Scots last night (the film, not the actual queen). Chores Saturday. Big bro. will be over from Poland on Sunday so will go to my mum’s to see him and her.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?
Branston’s. Or gherkins if that doesn’t count but I’m not really a pickles man.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?
No of course not.

Breaststroke because i’m rubbish at the others.

1. What’s the longest amount of time you can happily sit in the bath?

In my imagination,I sit in for half an hour listening to Radio 4. In reality, I manage about five minutes before I'm horribly bored and get out.

2.What are you up to this weekend, then?

Gym this morning, then San Antonio. Tomorrow afternoon me and my pal are off to one of my favourite bars to see a friend's band.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?

Onions, then cucumbers. I can't believe the pickle dissing I've read here!

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?

Doesn't everyone??

5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke

Back crawl. Or, just using my legs while on my back. Unlike all other swimming styles, I find it very relaxing.

"Excuse my dust."
"On mellow blue, birds curve and glide, Through shadows of grief she slides,"
"It put me back in my place and made me realize, yes I'm just a cunt in a clown suit."

1. What’s the longest amount of time you can happily sit in the bath?
Zero seconds. Baths are horrible. The very opposite of how I like water to be when I immerse myself in it - which is into clear, cold, invigorating freshness.

2.What are you up to this weekend, then?
Cooking a whole bunch of new vegetarian recipes now I have gone fully veggo.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?
All of them motherfuckers. Pickling vegetables is a high point of human achievement. Folks who like acidic foodstuffs are the best folks. I'd drink vinegar if I were allowed to.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?
Nope. I am 6'5" and a little too broad for your average swing. Plus I am a man.

5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke?
Underwater porpoise pretending. I am blind without my specs so swimming, especially in the ocean, kind of sucks. Underwater we're all the same.
Goodness gracious me.

1. What’s the longest amount of time you can happily sit in the bath?
Haven't had a bath in years. When I did, back in the day, I could easily spend an hour in there. 5 minute shower every morning these days.

2.What are you up to this weekend, then?
Off to London for a friend's birthday party and a quick trip up the Shard.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?
Beetroot. I don't think there's anything else pickled I like.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?
No. Bum to big and the chains chafe.

5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke?
Front crawl. Arms only. I've never worked out how to get any propulsion from my legs.
Bugger off.

1. What’s the longest amount of time you can happily sit in the bath?Daily shower guy but when my knee acts up I can go for a nice 1 hour bath soak.

2.What are you up to this weekend, then?working late tonight so I don't have to work the rest of the weekend. Tomorrow I've got a new home get together with a friend who just bought a home a few towns away, happy to have another friend move up from the city to my neck of the woods. Sunday in NYC with my nephew, niece and brother.

3. What’s your favourite pickled thing to eat?the pickled Italian Antipasto or half sour pickles.

4. If you pass a playground and you see a swing, do you go on it?Typically no but a few weeks ago we actually did have a swing and then a talk with a friend with each of us on a swing. It had been a long time.

5. What’s your favourite swimming stroke?I swim three times a week in the summer months and its all about laps so I swim freestyle. The back stroke is a nice relax and my favorite is the snorkel float which in the Caribbean can last hours.
