Holiday Destinations

Postby Jeemo » 05 Dec 2018, 12:27

Any holidays planned?

Where are you going?

We've been hoping to get away for a much needed battery recharge in the sunshine.
However circumstances and monolithic bureaucracy are preventing us even booking anything at the moment.

So come on, make me jealous.

We just had five days in Ilfracombe. It rained everyday, and I caught the stomach bug from hell on the first night. I have to say it was not in my top five short breaks. A week later and I am still not better.

I'm planning a few days by myself in Florence next March/April. The lass and I are wanting to do the North Coast 500 with a couple of friends. We bought a 5 man tent last year but we've never used it so we'll probably camp most of that if we end up driving it.

If we have the cash a week in rural France might be on the cards too.

Booked our 2 weeks in August 2019 for Portugal, just outside Sintra.

Otherwise, probably a little weekend here and there. I'm still mulling over where to take my wife for her 40th. Beirut or Seville are my top two at the mo.

Despite being off work from December 13th to January 3rd, I have no plans to travel anywhere and that's fine by me.

Being self-employed, I put money aside from each paycheque for the taxman, and I usually wind up with some left over after he's taken his cut. That's generally when I decide if any vacationing is going to happen.

I'm going to San Jose for an hour or two on Xmas Eve day. It's about a 40 minute drive.

St Just in Penwith, Cornwall in March 19.

Holywell Bay/Cubert, Cornwall in Sept 2019.

Possibly Devon November 2019 (somewhere like Bigbury On Sea) if we can synch calendars :)

Talland Bay, Cornwall March 2020.

The three Cornwall holidays are already booked.

Las Vegas Sept/Oct 2020 is a distinct possibility (my brother's 50th and a chance to see The Raiders in their new stadium).......

Switzerland with my gal pal for a week or so, probably after Easter.

Cornwall for Xmas.

Nothing else planned as yet; I’m painfully short on annual leave for some months to come. :(

Mono lake and Yosemite in the springtime and I'm hoping to have three or four days on the north coast around Salt Point or near Mendocino in the next month or two. I'm way overdue.

Nothing over Christmas, and nothing terribly major in the new year, we'll have a family holiday in early February, get a cabin somewhere on the south coast for a week after school goes back so it's cheaper  and in April we'll head up to (our) Tamworth to watch the Wests Tigers play a home game there.

Mrs More Black fancies the Maldives next year. I have no interest in going to the Maldives. So we'll be going to the Maldives.
