Gonna spoil your fun!

It's Forton services on the M6. I think the tower is closed now but open for special visits.

I was going to say that. For some reason, we almost always stop at that one, which annoys the piss out of me because it's only about 20 minutes from home.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

The first time we drove past must have coincided with an episode Captain Scarlet as a similar structure blows up in the climax to one of the episodes so it always reminds me of Captain Scarlet.
Funny how the brain works. :?

A landmark of sorts, a local hotel used to have one of those kind of towers. They tore it down about 10 years ago.

1968? Can't imagine the motorway looking that quiet at any more recent time.

I assume it’s when the services or the M6 opened, 1967?

The big design flaw of course was you could only get to the restaurant by lift - no good these days!
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.
