An exquisite snack to eat while watching the returns tomorrow.

Methinks I'll partake.

I wish it was the International Nacho Day.

My mouth is watering, thinking of the snack I could be eating, if only...

Olives? Are they a thing in Mexican food?

American hand food, shovelling 1000 island spicy snacks into your gob with your mitts and calling it a meal.
My worst nightmare.

What does 1000 Island dressing have to do with nachos? :? Nachos are typically eaten as a snack or appetizer before a meal. Sure some people might choose it as a meal but it's a free country and there's worse crap to throw down your gullet.

I prefer a frito pie, but nothing wrong with some solid nachos.

My ex grew up in New Mexico and went to the Univ. of Texas. I did not know about frito pie until I met her.

Great discovery. They didn't have Sonic out here either (they do now).

I make my own (fry the corn tortillas into chips, add beans, cheese, jalapenos...maybe chicken or beef, but...not really necessary - and then bake the whole mess for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese). A wonderful treat, but...honestly, a bit of a procedure when you factor in the chips. Worth it if there's company/party/etc./help in the kitchen, but...in a "party of one" scenario, you'd ponder the weight gain and hard graft and probably think better of it.
