Yeah, I was wondering why they were showing Trump so much respect despite his outrageous treatment. That'd be why, right? They have to retain some kind of decorum otherwise they won't be invited back?

I used to. I don't now because of the complications of living abroad, i.e., I have no idea of where I was formerly registered. In a sane system all I'd need to vote is a passport, but then voting for local issues would be problematic. So no. I don't vote and since I didn't and was only looking on I could see what a farce voting is, what a farce American democracy is, how dumb Americans are. Election after election we end up with the same crap, bought off pols, disrespect for the honest ones, a lap dog media, more wars and lies, lots and lots of lies. And the crazy thing is there are solutions, practical, affordable, humane and progressive answers to problems. Voting American style is not one

Oh brother. It's always the guy who doesn't vote who's complaining.

Do I detect a lecture about the ethical virtue of not voting next?

Do the billions of non-voting non-Americans who need to suffer American interference have a right to complain? Are good and regular American voters responsible for Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, all the other US driven foreign debacles? You are not. No one wants these things and yet, D or R, one fake election after another we get them.

For instance here in Japan on Okinawa, a thriving and normal part of modern Japan, despite overwhelming protests, the US Marines are bulldozing a reef to make a new heliport. Vote that whydoncha.

They say it's a dog and pony show but I disagree. It's a fucking spectacle, Ben Hur meets The Avengers, and as a former theater guy I gotta hand it to the director and the crew and the producers for pulling it off. Bravo! That's why I say we are being "played."

Hold up, you can do all the internet sleuthing in the world to bring us THE TRUTH but you can't figure out how to vote as an ex-pat?

C'mon Jimbo, that's just lax, man.

Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

L'l bit, maybe, but I tried a while back, sent an email to The League of Women Voters and got some paperwork back and I couldn't remember where I was registered, moving around as much as I did and in the end it was a hassle and said fuck it. Besides, in retrospect, yes it is a cliche, I see that my one vote really wouldn't have mattered. A few good folks won but overall the liars and cheaters took the gold. And we acquiesced. "We'll get 'em next time!" No you fucking won't.

How about internet voting? If you can bank securely by email why not vote? Dems push this and they'd win every time!

I don't know if Anna wants to go into it or not, but there's a whole list of things they want you to do to get US citizenship. A friend of mine married a woman from Japan back in the '90s and she only just got her citizenship a year or so ago.

It's not a fun process but 20 years is pretty outrageous. La Contessa did it in about five.
