Language question.

Which one is correct?

Farmgate prices typically settle on a monthly basis while commodity prices typically on a weekly.

Farmgate prices typically settle on a monthly, while commodity prices typically on a weekly basis.

Or both crap and there is better option?

I'd maybe go for this:

Typically, farmgate prices settle on a monthly basis, while commodity prices settle on a weekly basis.

I know the repetition of 'basis' might look a little clumsy, but it means there's no chance of confusion.

Is farmgate the latest Boris scandal?

Awful thing when that happens. I had a similar experience at a Tom Jones concert.

How about:

Farmgate prices typically settle on a monthly basis, and commodity prices weekly.

Thank you both. I'll go for Penk's suggestion. The repetition was what I wanted to avoid.

Farmgate prices typically settle on a monthly basis, while commodity prices do so weekly.

Nah, Penk's is better.
