According to the postman, chances are it'll still get there before X-mas. Sorry, recipient, but I didn't pay the additional $30 to guarantee that.

Only Minnie, Kath & Hatz to go.

I'm pretty sure Minnie's is waiting for her when she gets back to the US.

The other two, however...... a bit worrying.

Merry Christmas everyone!

The BCB joke, or whatever it is, of changing your user name (except for obvious Xmas changes) has got me a little stumped. Has my recipient gotten my present - or sent one? His or her name does appear on either list.

I'm pretty certain Hatz has received his (it would be nice if Dave could confirm this though).... and Minnie's is awaiting her on her return to the US... which, if so, means that all SS prezzies have been delivered in time for Xmas!!

He did! Sorry for the delay at both ends, and thanks, Santa!

And thank you, DD!

This is the point where I have to be strong every year - prezzie time here in Switzerland is on Christmas Eve, so it feels like I should open my package now.

But I'll play along with my anglo-saxon brethren and open it tomorrow too... :P

It's people like you Kev, who give so freely throughout the rest of the year, that provide 'the template' for this BCB tradition - let's hope we can keep it going, no matter the differences we may have with eachother as a group during 'down time'.

Thanks to everyone - and now I'm just off to open my prezzie too!

Wow. Thank you Secret Santa. Mind blown.

Very thoughtful and crucially appropriate pressies!

A ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ Stones dvd
A Zappa Legendary Broadcast pack
TRex Gold
A couple of ‘Electric’ cd packs
A Moby Grape book
And a Briill Building book!
And nibbles!
Amazing stuff!

Very generous!

Cheers!!!

This is the first time I’ve looked in on this thread since I’m not an active participant, but worry not—the post between the UK and the US is very inconsistent. Some things get through in days while others take weeks. No rhyme or reason!

Merry Christmas to all!

A great big thank you to my SS (of course, I actually do *know* who they are).... :

Image

Erm.... I will try it, but probably not today.... ;)

But then three great books ...

Image

I've not read Hicks before, but I've always wanted to dabble... so a perfect start!

Image

This looks utterly fantastic - the kind of thing I read with absolute zeal!

Image

And this is the kind of reference book I always want to buy, but rarely do...so another great choice!

All in all - wonderful thought out choices. Really couldn't be more pleased.... thank you very much indeed :)

I just did and wow!

- A book "Why Dylan Matters" - I'll read it with great interest, it's a question I sometime ask myself. ;)
- A 2CD set by The Amorphous Androgynous - I've already played it on this sweet morning. I really like the concept but had only heard their covermount CD for Mojo Magazine a while time back. Groovy!
- A 9CD box set of early Miles Davis on Columbia in mono - I only have Kind of Blue and Sketches in Spain - both in stereo obviously - very happy to have this!
- a signed (!) copy of the new Belly album on tie-dyed blue vinyl. Amazing!
- and best of all: 2 items from the "very limited edition bundle" of what turned out to be my album of the year 2018, Elvis Costello's Look Now. I distinctly remember our short exchange about this:

Neige wrote:What I heard so far is great - his best in years even - but the artwork is so ugly I wonder who on earth would want to buy any of these limited edition bundles:

For the record, I've grown to like the cover.

Anyway, a million thanks, dear Secret Santa Kevin, you made me very happy!

PS: After sending off my package, I suddenly had serious doubts. Hadn't I already sent you a copy of that CD featuring "Tom Waits For Me"? My memory certainly isn't what it used to be.

Thank you Martha/Watts!!

The K-Tel logo t-shirt is fantastic, and the 'Punk Avenue' book looks like it'll be a fun read.

Merry Christmas, and all the best to you and your family!

Arriving in a perfectly timely fashion my SS sent me a wonderful grab bag of goodies including a Bob Dylan Fridge Magnet Memo Pad which unfortunately may go unstuck to my fridge because how could my SS know our new fridge has a glass covered door and renders new - and old - fridge magnets useless. I wonder if my SS minds if I re-gift the Bob Dylan Fridge Magnet Memo Pad to the Bob Dylan-themed bar owner, a Dylan fan who introduces himself as "Tokyo Bob." It's really a cool bar. I'll happily keep SS's "Bristol Clifton Suspension Bridge" fridge magnet souvenir, in addition to the potpourri of Black Cat Bone mini-badges, my favorite being the "Petty-Uninformed" badge. I also got a profane Christmas card which I quoted earlier. The musical portion of the present included two CDs, one an Ella Fitzgerald "Swinging Christmas" and the other one by Tracey Thorpe called "Record." Oh, I almost forgot the chocolate brussels sprouts and chocolate gold coins which I loved when I was a kid. I'm a kid again. Thank you SS!

Thank you Harv! Glad you enjoyed your gifts.

Thank you for your gift package as well! I'm looking forward to reading the book you sent me, going to have some reading time this weekend. I love the cool hip flask, and the whole family enjoyed eating the chocolates. Veronica will get some mileage out one or two of those buttons, and even though the cat is clearly a delinquent burnout she likes cats enough to find him adorable anyway.
