Watch them try to use “socialism” in the next Presidential election - but without the old “Soviet style” preface.

I don't know if Kavanaugh questioning Democratic senators with questions is an effective strategy.

His question to Sen. Klobuchar whether she was ever blackout drunk was out of line.

He’s acted like an entitled prick since day one. It’s a job interview, man. You aren’t calling the shots. What a dick.

You'd think Kavanaugh and the Republican Senators didn't all get lap dances last night.

Females all over the internet are discussing BK & LG's behavior. "what if women had acted like that?" it's a fair question.

A point of pedantry: people are saying (elsewhere) that they wish there was some evidence. Sworn statements and testimony are evidence. I understand the sentiment, though.

I didn't want to watch the live questioning, prefer to read about it after the fact as I need it would be an emotional battlefield. I had other things to do anyway. I don't know how the Rs can vote yes outside of the ones whose minds were made up before today but they are hellbent on getting him rammed through, this is evident. Had the Rs not prevented Obama from choosing a nominee I might feel a little different but after that little nuclear option I have no respect for any of them.

me neither. I'm changing my mind again. they'll confirm him tomorrow...and give him a dozen roses...and hoist them on their shoulders while singing.

Surely there will be enough people who will switch an expected yes to no. If there's not going to be an investigation into the accusations then any moral person would have to say No. But then, yeah, morals ....

What a shit show. I'm finally watching highlights.
How they could schedule a vote less than 24 hours after this is beyond me. Fucking Senate Republicans. Villains of all time.

One thing we should all be prepared for:

Joe Manchin is going to vote as a bloc with whatever m the Murkowski/Collins/Flake alliance decides.

If they split up and he’s the deciding vote, he’ll vote Kavanaugh down. But if he isn’t decisive - he’ll vote for Kavanaugh. He needs to hold his seat.

This.

The Kavanaugh hearing: A spectacle of political filth and reaction

By Patrick Martin

28 September 2018

...

The Democratic Party has chosen to wage its campaign against the nomination of Kavanaugh on the most right-wing basis possible. Rather than focus public attention on Kavanaugh’s ultra-right political views—his opposition to abortion rights, his rubber-stamping of police violence, his consistent defense of corporate interests against workers and consumers—or on his lengthy record as a partisan legal thug going back to the Clinton impeachment, the Democrats engineered a hearing in which all attention was focused on Kavanaugh’s personal conduct as a teenager......

Does no term limits favour any particular party? I know that Republicans would never do away with electoral college because it favours Republican wins but is that the same for this? If not then why don't you do away with no term limits and stop torturing yourselves.
