"My hairdresser notes that I have more hair on my ears than my head"

Shouldn't the preposition "on" be repeated? What do you reckon?

Yes, because it would avoid potential confusion. There is a double-meaning present in the sentence you've quoted as it is.

"Notes"? Elmore Leonard says we should use "say" when someone says something. "My hairdresser said ..."

Another vote for "yes". Although as one's ears are usually on one's head, there's still room for confusion.

Was your hairdresser taking a tour of your corn farm?

What's a bald guy with hairy ears doing at a hairdresser anyway? My mother goes to a hairdresser. A guy goes to a hair stylist, maybe. A barber is more likely.
