What do expect from a rabid Corbynite like Peter.
Only for him to ape the bad manners, dishonesty and intolerant actions of his beloved leader.
I don't think less of him for this.
I just feel a bit sad.

Especially at Christmas. :(

Trivial it may well be, but "stupid woman/person gate" is a perfect illustration as to why JC Is utterly devoid of the qualities needed to be a decent leader of the opposition./PM designate.

A smarter politician would have killed this whole non-issue in its crib and got people laughing with (rather than at) him by being just the slightest bit self-effacing. Instead of going back to the despatch box and trying to lie his way out of the mess he'd made, JC should have tossed off some witty non-apology along the lines of "I'm sorry if my obvious lack of clarity has made me seem like a stupid man, but...".

If he had a smidgeon of decisiveness, he could have also demonstrated he had some cojones by saying something along the lines of "If I said she was a stupid woman it's because she is a stupid woman - political correctness be damned".

Sadly, JC doesn't have what's needed to carry this sort of stuff off so it will rumble on for days - if not the weeks and months that have resulted from his abject failure to deal with the anti-semitism issue.

Labour’s anti-semitism is, sadly, not a ‘non-issue’.

I don't agree. It doesn't matter what he does, his enemies are just ready to pounce whenever he moves half a footstep out of line. None of the options you mentioned would have made the slightest bit of difference.
John Bercow, Phillip Hammond and even David Cameron can get away with making any number of sexist remarks and the result is a bit of tutting, then business as usual.
I am getting more and more frustrated with his line on Europe though. When he's offering no new referendum if Labour win a snap election, he clearly isn't going to win. You can't piss off 60% of your base voters when it's so tight.

You're right of course.

After all, why try and defuse a mess of your own making when it's so much easier to stick to your default position of saying that "black is white" and then trying to blame everyone else for highlighting your shortcomings.

I saw a lot of nonsense that people like you jumped on because you have literally nothing else left than childish attacks on Jeremy Corbyn.

Unable to make a positive case for the actions and policies of the government you support, because it is impossible, you do the only thing you can do attack the opposition, and as their policies are widely popular you attack people not policy.

You on the right are like spoilt children, at least the Thatcher government were grown ups.

You are going to have your toys taken away, try not to spit the dummy quite so comically.

Find one post where I supported any politician. A single one.

Because the media don't treat him fairly, in fact tell bare faced lies about him, and morons get their knickers in a twist about him?

I have shown that far worse insults have been thrown at Labour Party MPs in the house with no one in the media even bothering to report it let alone making it the most most important story of the week when a homeless man was literally dying on the gates of Parliament.

I think the country is almost completely polarised now and people like you have decide who you are going to support; a far right Tory government or a moderate left Labour one.

Or you can do what literally millions of current Labour voters did for many years and not vote at all.

But I do wish if you close the last options you'd just shut the fuck up bleating about how awful it all is and let the rest of us getting on with our culture war.

Agreed; it is a non-existent issue.

Whereas the weaponising of fake anti-Semitism by the Israeli government and their supporters is a very serious issue.

Especially as it keeps people like you silent about the on going, and escalating, atrocities being committed on Palestinian civilians on a daily basis in Gaza and the West Bank.

You should be ashamed to even pretend you are on the left of politics.

Oh, and Merry Christmas :)

I think Labour Policy on Europe decided at conference that would go into their manifesto would be that they would attempt to start negotiations with the EU again, but any outcome would be put to a second referendum, they just do not favour, and will not demand, a second referendum now on the May deal because they would prefer a GE.

Labour is trying to deal fairly with the fact that 52% of the population voted to leave, regardless of what you think of that idea and the vote itself, polls don't show a huge shift in this, and to just blithely ignoring the views of 52% of the population when you have asked for them is not very democratic.

Not 52% of the population bruv. %2% of those who voted in the referendum - different thing.
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.
