I Googled "Jimmy Dore demonitized" and got a bunch of posts about it - from Jimmy Dore!

They've fucked with algorithms where sites like Syria and Red Helmet-outing sites like 20th Century Wire come up many pages back in searches.

Depends what you're searching for, no? I found them very easily.

Scott Horton had his podcast muted.

He did?

And funnily when I open my YouTube page five out of ten times Rachael Maddow is my first recommendation.

Hmm, imagine a popular show on a major network watched by millions coming up high on a search! I mean, obviously there's some chicanery afoot!

Google banned sites and see what you get.

How about YOU google banned sites? You're the one making the claim.

Actually, I did. I mostly get movie download sites.

At this stage you may have a point, Hillary. Most of the sites are still available except for Infowars, and even Jones can still be seen somehow in some version on the internet. What I spouted was mostly anecdotal info and maybe hyped to boost a site's cred. There was a time not too long ago, however, when the Russia!!! and fake news bullshit thing got started the WAPO ran a story about and endorsed a site called Propornot which listed a number of sites its "researchers" determined were spreading Russian propaganda. Among them was my favorite Consortium News. There was an uproar among the alternative news sites about this blacklisting and I, trying to prove my point to you today, just went to Propornot. It's still there and a number of sites are still there, unfairly IMO. CN is off the list. I'm surprised to see RT is no longer listed either. Whatever. The good news is, however Propornot feels about the sites most of the blacklisted listed sites are still viewable. I remain wary, however, that a much broader crackdown is coming.

Well here's where we run into trouble. You can easily verify that they were fired. Proving that the reasoning is as you say is a bit dicier.

Just out of curiosity, I read up a bit about demonetizing. It's not something I approve of or support (OK, maybe for AJ, not for Dore as annoying as I find him), but I tend to take Youtube at its word when they say it's mainly an attempt to please their advertisers. That's where the money is. So, immoral? Matter of opinion. But I think it really is a matter of looking at the bottom line (which corporations pretty much always do) rather than Youtube having an official opinion on content. And illegal? Most assuredly not.

Likewise MSNBC officially said those people were fired because they weren't bringing in the audience that MSNBC wanted - the suggestion was that their numbers were low, but maybe there IS an undercurrent of "not our kind of people." Either way, there's nothing illegal about it. And personally, I don't go to MSNBC or InfoWars for my news anyway.

And the bottom line is, you are not being cut off from your "sources." And furthermore, as I've said here numerous times, you'd resent them for selling out the second they joined MSNBC anyway. I wish you'd save your outrage for stuff like this, but to each his own...

TeleSUR English, the English version of a prominent left-leaning Latin American publication, has had its Facebook page deleted without explanation. This is the second time that Facebook has done this, and as of this writing, more than 24 hours after it was initially reported, the page is still gone.

Five days earlier, the left-leaning Facebook page of Venezuela Analysis was temporarily unpublished, reportedly just as it had a story getting high-performing circulation regarding The Guardian‘s fact-free conspiratorial false flag allegations about the attempt on President Maduro’s life.

You make a good point here, Hillary, It is hypocritical for those on my side to ignore the censorship going on amidst the mainstream media itself. I'll bring this up at our next cell meeting.

the book “cable news confidential” makes a very credible case that Donahue was fired because he featured anti war voices.
MSNBC personality Krystal Ball backs up Ed Schultz’ version of being discouraged from covering the Sanders campaign. Neither of these things have diddly dick to do with Alex Effing Jones who is being suspended from Twitter for a week for saying ”Now is the time to act on the enemy before they do a false flag”

So, what in the world does the last thing have to do with the first two? Absolutely nothing. Alex Jones is not acting out of any sort of integrity or principle. He is a dangerous jackass.

n a corporatist system of government, wherein government power and corporate power are not separated in any meaningful way, corporate censorship is state censorship.

InfoWars App Downloads Surge Past CNN After Orwellian Deplatforming
by Cassandra Fairbanks August 6, 2018

The InfoWars official app surged in popularity Monday evening, and surpassed CNN, following the Orwellian deplatforming of the outlet by multiple tech giants.

The app was already beating the New York Times, ABC, BBC, WSJ, NPR, CNBC, CBS, USA Today, Reuters, Bloomberg, MSNBC, Huffington Post, and the Washington Post before they bounded ahead of CNN on Tuesday evening.

Film critic Jay Dyer has been kicked off Word Press.

https://jaysanalysis.com

Oh, yes, I had heard in a 21st Century Wire podcast (hosted by Dyer) that KPFA's "Guns and Butter" hosted by Bonnie Falkner and its archives had been discontinued by Pacifica Radio, But when I went to its site the archives were still up. But in its blog section there is this letter from Bonnie. As a regular listener I will wait and see what is happening.

Dear Guns and Butter Supporters and Listeners,

Guns and Butter has been taken off the KPFA airwaves by the General Manager of the station.

I received on Wednesday, August 8th, before Guns and Butter would have aired on KPFA, the following email from the General Manager:
Bonnie,

KPFA will cease broadcasting “Guns and Butter” effective immediately.

We’ve received an avalanche of negative calls and emails from listeners about your uncritically airing of views by a holocaust denier, climate denial and casting the Parkland mass shooting survivors as crisis actors. As steward of our airways, we can’t defend this content to our listeners.

Sincerely,

Quincy McCoy Kevin Cartwright
General Manager Program Director

Jones may have been nuts and full of whacky notions about depopulation and the new world order but so far everyone who's been deplatformed (yeah, it's a word now) , including Jones, has opinions contrary to US hegemony, i.e., Syrian intervention, and are generally anti-war. But, as usual, you don't see a pattern of collusion, conspiracy or mutual back-scratching between the government and industry, which is the definition of fascism.

And KPFA - a true beacon of censorship.

Another removal based on "negative calls and e-mails." Are you sensing a pattern here?

Brand new app has more downloads than apps that have been around for many years and this is couched in terms that could make it look like it has more actual total downloads than CNN etc.

I'm going to say FAKE NEWS and deliberately disingenuous, well done for finding and posting as an example of how not to write factually Jimbo.
