The first line of your autobiography

Postby Jimbo » 27 Jun 2018, 18:29

"It was a dark and stormy night."

No. I suppose I could write, "I was born on September 15, 1951," which actually packs in a lot of information but it really isn't done is it? Something more impactful is needed than the date . . . or the weather unless it's "I was born in a crossfire hurricane."

"I nearly drowned in my mother's blood."

"Born on the same day, but three years previous to the US release of the Hard Days' Night album. . ."

Two weeks overdue and then I shot out like a champagne cork, almost born in the backseat of my father's car in exotic "Balham, Gateway to the South".

Why didn't show any interest in me when I was alive?

I was born in the early sixties. By the time I got some sensitivity for the world around me it was the early seventies. What a time that was.

It was the first of lines, it was the worst of lines.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Shouldn't you have been howling at your Ma in the driving rain?
Good.

Due to a synergistic chain of events taking place in the 20th Century, including the dissolution of the Austria-Hungarian Empire, the triumph of the New York Yankees in the 1932 World Series, and the appearance of a supernova in the Andromeda galaxy, as well as popular demand from an entertainment starved world in 1966, I was born.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Born unto a pair of art students in one century, I evolved into a walking art gallery in the next.
