Our bathroom sinks here at work have no taps at all. Just motion sensors. You can't regulate the temperature or strength of flow or anything. Works kind of alright, but sometimes it's good to have options.

They could, but they'd be wrong - especially if they're "walking vowels" and silent. One of the vowels is putting the other one its back and doing all the work.

Once I had to give customer service to someone in our branch in Brazil and I had to get in a translator as I don't speaker Portuguese. So I asked this guy what's the difference between Portuguese.....Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. He said, genuinely, the Portuguese spoken in Portugal is like English people speaking English,while the Portuguese spoken in Brazil is like Americans speaking English. Yeah, he didn't mean it as a compliment to Americans.

How do you know Irish is hard? The only time you spoke Irish is when you mentioned the pouges in conversation.

Course there is. And there's a ton of difference in regional word choice, too, just like in English/American/Australian language.

I learned from Colombians (who are really sniffy about how perfect their Spanish is and how close it is to what they speak in Spain) so Mexican Spanish does my head in sometimes. They use a lot of different words, pull in a lot of stuff from indigenous languages.

Anyway, two taps? That's ridiculous. The only benefit I could see is that you've got a spare in case one breaks.

French Canadians speak a rather different variation of French than they do in France. Apparently though, ours is more historically correct whereas the France French have introduced all kinds of Englishisms and similar.

Regarding the initial subject, I had misread the comment at the onset. Two taps means that water, hot and cold, spew out water. What I mainly see here, other than the more modern outfit, is one tap with two handles to regulate the flow of hot and cold separately.

The (British) English original spelling was in fact color (and other similar forms) but we added the 'u' to make it look more like the French couleur as that language was seen as sophisticated.
