seeing as I don't sprakken da Hooven I picked the one just above "meh" (the universal standard!)
I never thought I cared for it but it does bring back what turned out to be a simpler time.

It;'s remarkable how it got to be a big hit when the song doesn't start until the record is almost halfway through.
It's not Blondie, although the band clearly want to be.
I voted meh

Du geile Bockwurst! Achtung Baby! -
Nena!
Ein richtig feiner Schlager der Sonderqualität, wirklich Spitzenklasse, Champions-League-verdächtig!
Gut zum Tanzen, gut zum Sex.
Ich habe "Gut" gewählt, Herr Pcqgod!

It is terrible but listenable to from time to time. I would not turn it off, but would not buy it.

Terrible.
I was in Germany on a school exchange when it was a hit there. I hated the fucking thing and it was everywhere. Then I came back home and a couple of weeks later they released the English-language version and I had to suffer THAT

Yeah, that kind of thing.
But Blondie would NEVER go for that horrible little five-note parping fanfare you get in 'Luftballons'

Their albums were more pop than Blondie, this was as close as they came. It's OK.
Like the surprisingly postacolyptic lyric.

Those kids that started the third world war with their red balloons feel like IDIOTS now. "All of our friends, they're lll blown up, all our families they're dead too, can't even go see Kraftwerk now, they blew up along with you."

I second the Gaylord.
And I much prefer it in English
