I didn't know anything about "saving the planet" or the health aspects, I just felt a little bad inside that a couple animals a week had to be killed for my benefit. One day, I was hanging out with my girlfriend's friends, and one guy made a comment like "Jim, you seem like you're not fulfilling your potential. There's something on your mind that you're not doing." Pretty annoying to hear that, but after a couple days, I realized he was probably right, and one of the things was this meat thing. So, I went to In-N-Out Burger in Costa Mesa, sat on the lawn there in the sun, and had one last Double Double. It was good! But it was time.

Goodness. I just welled up.

If someone had said that in the past or would say that to me now, it would be a pretty long list I'd have to go down before I got to not eating meat.

Yeah, but for me, I was pretty much perfect other than that. :)

We thank you for that.
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

I suspect that was commonly a default stance of Europeans (and Brits) of the left in the 80s. It still kinda is in some respects, but getting to know people through the Internet helps. :)

Oh, I don't know. Stereotyping, unreasoning prejudice, thinking they were behind the times musically  Ronald Reagan...

I find it kind of ironic you list "stereotyping" first.

There was no particular order. Hell, you could say I was a stereotype myself- that what you mean?

What I mean is you were stereotyping Americans and thought we stereotyped people, if that's what you meant. I think I may have misunderstood though.

I wasn't going for a "Gotcha," I was genuinely interested.
