Oh great Toby has joined the intellectual powerhouse that is the - they are all as bad as each other so why bother voting *sneaks off to vote for pig fucking Tory* crowd.

How terribly surprising

This isn't about left and right, it's about the trappings of power and what comes with it. If Corbyn became PM, he would find himself in a sludge of miscommunication, lies, making the best worst decision and spin just like any other politician before him. He might have a honeymoon period and try to pass some acts, but he would be bogged down by civil service Mandarins time and time again.

I don't see any evidence that things would be any different.

Yes lesser people who don't vote like you are all blinded by the terrible charisma that this superannuated, bearded vegetarian wields, and have all forgotten the disappointments of T. Blair esq.

Thank goodness people didn't think like that in 1945 or you'd be sweeping roads and praying that you and your family didn't get ill like our forefathers did.

Of all the shabby tricks, telling people that politicians and Parties are all the same in the hope of depressing voter numbers when you have no belief in the statement or no intention of following your own heavily implied solution is one of the shabbiest.

Not up there with the out and out lies people tell about Corbyn being a racist or a spy or a traitor but probably more damaging to democracy in the long term.

Deebank has some rather funny pictures of him getting his head kicked in by Fascists if I remember correctly.

I don't get it. What's hurryupharry and how does it relate?

I haven't forgotten the points made directly to me by Nick and Dougie, by the way. I intend to reply properly but it may be some time next week. Loads on at work this week.

Harry's Place is a blog that calls out extremism on the Right and Left, but almost entirely perceived anti-Israel extremism on the left.

Like Nick they are in favour of a 2 state solution to that and see the biggest threat to that coming from left wingers engaging with Palestinians for some reason.

In this case they have willfully misinterpreted a post from Greenstein that in effect says that idiots who make anti-Semitic statements on line in the UK do more damage to left wing anti-Zionists than Jewsish Zionists in the UK to pretend that he thinks that anti-Semitism does not and never has harm Jews.

In all this it is often easy to forget that Tony Greenstein is actually Jewish, although, in that peculiar brand of anti-Semitism that is never called out, he is apparently a "self hating Jew".

He is just a Jew who thinks socialist internationalism is the most important of all things and all nationalism, including Zionism, is inimicable to that.

Popular beat combo 5 Seconds Of Summer... they’re shite but your nieces like them.

Tony’s album of pics of him facing down and often legging it from various nazis certainly existed. I’m not sure when you might have seen it. Maybe we were chuckling at his antics in the union office? Did you ever meet him? He practically shared the office with me for two years!

No intention of joining in the debate, but Pedanticus cannot be denied.

Palestinians, and for that mattter Arabs, are semites too.

Corbyn's position on Russia could be toxic. A difficult one for him - does he stick to his guns?

It must have been in the Union office, I did meet him there, I remember it being photographs one of him bent double with a skinhead roundhouse kicking him to the head and upper body.

All I could think of was; who the fuck took that?

That's it love, hold it there, got it, lovely!

He is a legend and no mistake I am following him on twitter now. He is like Carter:

You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. With me it's a full time job.

He has pretty much given up his life to left wing politics, god knows how he deals with the abuse and lies

He had a glorious spat with someone the other day who was spraying around the usual anti-Semitic accusations and he replied that the guy was Nazi which sent him apoplectic

So then Tony tweeted photos the guy on a BF march standing next to their leadership group, most of whom are now in prison for incitement.

With a strap line like: "Perhaps my camera is anti-Semitic too"

Reeled him knowing he had photographic evidence of his Nazi tendencies.

Fantastic, what a mensch :)

Yes, we know, but the term has now moved on to mean something else, has it not? As irritating as that may be.

(It may, though, prompt a few to consider how the two creeds are interconnected and how the two people coexisted fairly peacefully for quite some percentage of their existence)

Corbyn's position of Russia, like most things, seems a bit nuanced for the dumbed down politics of today when you have to shout anything very loudly straight away.

He unequivocally denounced the act, and was awaiting the end of the investigation into who did it. He then pointed out that the Tories had donations of nearly £1 million in the last few months from Russian Oligarchs who all have links to Putin.

Again the idea that Corbyn finds a fascistic dictator like Putin any more palatable than a bunch of religious nutjobs like Hamas is just so fucking stupid it doesn't really bare discussion.

Follow the money on this one and there is a Tory with its snout in a Russian trough at the end of it, the rest is just faux anger and finger pointing to try and disguise this.

Exactly Mike.

Glad you can see through the Tories bluster around all the money they've taken from shady Russians in the past few years.

Now they are looking rather treasonous so they are trying to make out Corbyn waiting to see what the Police say is unpatriotic whilst taking money from Putin's Kremlin to run the Tory Party is perfectly fine.

You'd have to be a right fucking mug to fall for that one wouldn't you?

More babies are dying within a year of being born, in a “disturbing reversal” of several decades of the NHS’s success in reducing infant mortality.
