Apart from the usual - cook two meals a day, walk dog twice a day, smoke adozen bongs of hashish, play with my photos and the interweb, fall asleep in front of MOTD - I'm planning to watch the game at Spotland from behind the sofa and transplant an olive tree from the ground into a half barrel. And I might, just might, catch up with hoovering and ironing and find a home for four dining chairs, but no-one should inhibit their respiration.

We're watching the game too, though cheering on the Dale!

I've been fighting a cold for the past couple days, but not feeling too shit. I played hockey last night, had friends over for dinner the night before, and I might go see some friends tonight who are playing music at a nearby bar because tomorrow's a holiday and I don't have to go to work.

It was!

All cup games are entertaining to watch if you don't personally support one of the teams, in which case it becomes agonising.

Off to Jersey again. Hopefully we can finally get the house signed off and get a tenant in. Everything moves so bloody slowly in Jersey , the simplest thing is like pulling teeth. People only seem to work 20 hours a week, and have no sense of urgency at all. It is driving me nuts. Still, we have booked a nice hotel this time, and we are going to push the boat out by going to a good restaurant which has a cocktail bar . ( I love cocktails). A couple of visits to the MOL will wrap up what is a mercifully short trip.

heading to NJ shore for the weekend. Seeing my friend who moved back to the area. He is a classical guitarist (just a teacher these days), hopefully he will play a few tunes for me.

Well this weekend I'm football based.
Saturday morning I'll be with my son at his U-8 training and then on Sunday we've got tickets to the league cup final (whatever it's called now: Rumbelows cup, milk cup, Carling cup...)

My sister is coming to visit. We will eat, drink and be merry. And we might stagger about on the cliff tops. Or sleep on the beach. Who knows!

- 1000 holiday pics to sift through, edit and file (why the fuck do I always take so many pics????)
- frame three more Roger Dean-prints recently purchased.
- two weeks of holiday laundry to do
- restock my empty cupboards
- fix up my seriously delapidated garden

I hate after-holiday work...

My wife and son are away.

So I'm playing boardgames all day tomorrow and the rest of the time I'm working on my dissertation.

Doing a bit of recording tomorrow afternoon for a trailer for my band's rock opera, then playing hockey in the evening. Hopefully doing not much of anything on Sunday.

We've all rolled our dice when the wife's away.

Yesterday I was out playing on my Kubota tractor mowing (and working on my tan) today I'll be doing the same. Going to cut the back pasture where I plan to extend an electric fence in the coming weeks. I'm also going to ride a horse.

Tomorrow, I'll probably just chill.

I've just about recovered from 10 day man-flu so It's good to feel human again. Going to my friend Sera's birthday drinks tonight, possibly after a quick drop in to our local gin distillery open night. Tomorrow, Nat and I are off to Newport Pagnell to see her Mum and stuff ourselves at an all you can eat Thai buffet.

In the meantime, I need to plan some literacy lessons....

Today marks 100 years of the Republic of Estonia. We've got househunting this morning but later on, there will be vodka, sauerkraut boiled potatoes, and a Kate Bush sync listen. Sunday - cleaning and packing.

So much for tractoring. Made it about a hundred yards before a fuse to the dash panel blew. Replaced it. 5 min later it blew again. Called the dealership and they're coming out some time at the beginning of the week. It could just be faulty fuses, I put another in and it's running now, but since it's still under warranty I want them to check it out before I run it any further.

So that sucked. Then I weedeated for a bit, which reminded me that I needed a padded double shoulder harness, because the unpadded single shoulder harness I have is a lawn maintenance torture device. But of course my local Stihl dealership didn't have any in stock, so they ordered me one. Next week they say. Since I was thoroughly disappointed at this point, I treated myself to a pair of $117 Stihl loppers. 32 inch airplane aluminum handles, weighing in at under 3 lbs. Replaceable blades. The only brand that might compare are Felco, but at this level of quality it's all about personal preference. I had my eye on these all winter. Very pleased with my purchase of you couldn't already tell.
