John Mahoney, RIP

Postby sloopjohnc » 06 Feb 2018, 00:45

Started acting late - I remember him first in Tin Men and Moonstruck, which came out the same year.

I really like him but thought that he was older than 77, I guess that was because of Frasier.

R.I.P. John Mahoney ... :(

it was such a pleasure to see such a rock-solid character actor hit the Zeitgeist with such a plum role which he handled so very well.
one of my favorites is "Barton Fink" "WHERE'S MAH HONEY???!!!"

he was good.

I had forgot he played the William Faulkner type character in Barton Fink.

Great actor and superb comic foil in Frasier. Gave me lots of joy watching him. He was indeed good.

I loved Frasier. Many happy memories of that show and Mahoney was crucial. His relationship with his boys was a delight.

RIP

The ultimate scene stealer in Frasier. They're talking about him here on the radio and apparently he came over here a lot on holidays. They told a story about him getting schooled on the proper way to pronounce his surname properly in a café. "I've been saying it wrong all these years!".
