There's an American version of this commercial too.

There's an American 'version' of everything.
If you've got nothing to do, don't do it here.

These Haribo threads of yours make the 'word association' thread seem fascinating in comparison. :(

They're just silly ads J. No one's interested.

Just watch the old fella. It's the best thing.

And then you can return to your horror films (and G to his mod stuff)

Perhaps these Haribo ads would be improved if you had a guy in a tonic suit taking the heads off everyone with a chainsaw.

Here's American version. . .

I look at ads with professional interest, having graduated with a BA in advertising. Even though I don't do TV ads, I like to look at the approach, like what audience are they shooting for and would that audience like to buy the product after seeing the ad. Another important factor for TV and radio advertising is how well does the ad wear on you. Some ads are clever at first, but become annoying very shortly. Also, how easily can the ad be shortened from 30 to 15 seconds, and now, how does it translate to a digital campaign on youtube, etc.

I think this ad works pretty well. The demographic of the train passengers are fairly young - millennial to Gen-Zs, which probably aren't focusing on health as much as older folks, yet.

The audience is also close enough to childhood to relate to the kids' voices and lines given the actors, although I think remembering childhood is pretty universal.

The kids voice could get annoying after awhile.

I think the ads are pretty memorable though and show all the different kind of Haribo candies, showing the different preferences pretty cleverly.

Successful campaign - which is why they've used it for awhile.
