Crown Prince Mohammad is consolidating his position, prior to succeeding his father, King Salman, who is now 85 and won't be likely to be around too much longer.

When Mohammad becomes king, he'll be the first one in years not to be already pretty ancient when he takes the throne (he's currently 35). Given that Mohammad is likely to be on the throne for a long time, the view seems to be that he's getting rid of enemies and clearing out corrupt officials in good time.

An interesting sub-plot is that the Lebanese prime minister, Saad Hariri, resigned suddenly at the weekend - from Riyadh . I did hear that he was subsequently detained with the rest, which of course could be done once he'd resigned, as he is a Saudi national too. It seems to be a shot at Iran and to have come as a surprise even to Hezb.

Makes you wonder how he was persuaded to resign... :?

More questions than answers but still more depth on what's happening in SA than I can find elsewhere. And now there has been a missile launched from Yemen into Riyadh.

She's full of shit, and she's not a reporter. She's a propagandist for the Assad regime.

She does give that impression but maybe it's because what she is saying is true and all the bullshit from our MSM and pols is war mongering military industrial complex bullshit. Time after time when there is a story which involves Russia vis a vis the west, i.e., Syria, it's Russia's fault and by default, the guy Russia is helping, Assad. According to our MSM it is not a coincidence that from Ukraine to HRC's emails, it's Russia, Russia, Russia. That is the same Russia which convinced Assad to rid himself of his chemical weapons. I say thank goodness there are intrepid reporters like Bartlett and Robert Parry to part the curtain of propaganda and show how it is our media, our pols who are lying.

And speaking of Robert Parry and Syria, it seems the UN has recently come out with a report which blames Assad for the sarin gas incident for which Trump sent in retaliation 50 missiles and blew up a Syrian air force base and a few civilians. Well, Parry did the legwork and actually read the report and lo and behold he finds buried deeply in the appendix a bit which obliterates the "Assad did it" narrative and once again shows what a bunch of hypocrites, cowards and liars we have representing us. https://consortiumnews.com/2017/11/09/d ... an-attack/
