Wednesday night home drinking, anyone?

I might have a cheap G&T or two.

Maybe some popcorn.

Probably an early night

I will have a beer after I play hockey. That'll be it. I'm trying to cut out weeknight drinking as much as I can, but it's tricky - I mean, I don't have to drink at band practice on Thursday nights, but the other guys do, and it's more of a social situation than actual work, so... which leads into Friday and then Saturday, and well, I barely get a breather from the booze. I don't think I drink too much, though, so there is that.
If you've got nothing to do, don't do it here.

I'm having a couple of beers in the end.

And dauphinoise potatoes with some chops.

Yeah, I'll be partaking of a bottle of vino with the missus. Don't want to risk 5 days sober, that's how we'd find out we have a deep loathing of each other's company.

Wednesday night is basketball night, so if we have the early game I'll stop for one or two at the pub across the street from the stadium. If no basketball we go to a quiz night and then I do have a few

Packed the four-year-old off on a train with his grandma on Monday. One-year-old and girlfriend are driving up after lunch today.

A long weekend with the place to myself? When I’m on leave? And have the fridge stocked with a selection of beers from some of Sweden’s top craft breweries?

Whatever am I going to do with myself?

I mean, fair play for starting off young, but if she can drive, that age gap should be triggering alarm bells.

Do you have any recommendations? I'm currently in my wife's hometown of Hamilton NZ and we went to a Swedish themed tapas place that had a few beers there, had a Stigbergets Endless Summer APA and it was sensational.

Stigbergets are good, yeah. That's one of the more readily available craft breweries here, in that you can get their beers in towns away from the main brewery (I think they're in Gothenburg but you can get their beers easily here in Stockholm).

Other good ones if you find them are Omnipollo, O/O, All In Brewing, Dugges (who do really good stouts and porters and lots of collaborations), Eskilstuna Ölkultur, Oppigårds (another big one), Brewski (if you like fruiter IPAs and pale ales). There are others that are highly rated but you can't get their beers in Stockholm or through the alcohol monopoly's website (all sale of alcohol for home consumption is regulated by the state and they have a monopoly on the stores, but to be fair they do have a really good range and knowledgeable staff).

"Can I pour you a beer Mr. Peterson?"
"A little early isn't it, Woody?"
"For a beer?"
"No, for stupid questions."
