On my liberal hand I think it's shameful that a giant tobacco company will take advantage of a poor African country where judges and pols are sure to give in to bribery. The industry must be strictly regulated - and done so from Britain where the company is headquartered.

My libertarian hand thinks fuck it. Sell the smokes and sell them as cheaply or as expensively as you can. Smoking is fun until it kills you - and sooner or later something will kill you. Might as well be tobacco.

What do-gooders should do is an end run around the tobacco companies and encourage vaping. Still addictive but way less deadly than tobacco.
