I have a question?

Postby sloopjohnc » 16 May 2017, 23:36

Sincerely.

This has happened to the last few birthday posts I've put up. Like 25-30 people click on the thread, but less than 10 wish someone a happy birthday.

What's up with that?

It's not like opening it is going to present some revelation or something or it's clickbait with some lascivious and enticing title: Happy Birthday Nick and win $100 just by clicking on this thread.

Happy Birthday sloop?

I guess it might be people who did post, then keep returning to see what others have said.

For four or five posts?

Edit: At the time of this post, it almost has the same stats as recent birthday posts - five posts and 25 opens.

I've been known to do that.

5 to 1 does seem like an strange ratio, though.

Opens are not unique. The same person could open a thread many times. When you post a thread and it jumps to the post - that's the first view.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
I assume this is one of Gash's 'jests'

I only open them to see if someone has already said "Happy fucking birthday!"
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?
