Ian Brady dead

Postby K » 15 May 2017, 22:20

Pauline Reade RIP
John Kilbride RIP
Keith Bennett RIP
Lesley Ann Downey RIP
Edward Evans RIP
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
I assume this is one of Gash's 'jests'

Is it just me or does the air seem a little fresher and the world seem a little greener this morning?

One of those rare incidences that contradicts John Donne's maxim that "the death of one man diminishes us all."

Media reports that he PM-ed his apologies to the affected parties.

It ill behoves society to rejoice at the death of anyone, and a lot of time has passed since... but y'know, can't really say I'm sorry this particular piece of scum is dead.

Well I hope there's a heatwave in hell to welcome that motherfucker.

Still, my favourite Smiths track:

Yeah. There isn't a hell bad enough for that cunt.

All those opportunities to give the relatives some peace by offering up the burial places of their children.

Morrissey's way of pronouncing Hindley as "Hinderly" is as unforgivable as the original crimes [/overstatement].

I have always had the idea they didn't want to reveal it because there would be more there to find.

My parents used to talk about the Moors Murders quite angrily when I was young. I know it was a shocking crime but it didn't hit me till much later that my parents were the same ages as John Kilbride and Lesley Ann Downey and I guess Stockport wasn't that far from Longsight and Gorton. I don't mean that they went around in their pre-teen years worrying they would be grabbed by someone but perhaps in hindsight they thought, "It could have been any of us."
