Heard this on the way home from lunch. Apparently, one of Murdoch's sons hates his guts.

My job often requires me to be around a TV blaring the top of the second half of his show.
while I won't miss him, I sure they'll have somebody else up there making my skin crawl in no time.
if they give the show to that smarmy "man on the street" guy, I might just be missing the old pain in the ass in no time.

I've only ever seen him second hand on Daily Show etc. Is there anything redeeming about him? He didn't give Trump the soft treatment a few weeks ago in an interview. You could hardly congratulate him for that but it was surprising to see a Fox man pushing Trump to answer for himself.

He really pushes to the outer limits of arseholery here

Whoah. Interesting to see how the network will deal with the loss of two of their biggest public faces this year, since Megyn Kelley already fucked off.

I can't see that. That guy's terrible and has none of the gravitas that O'Reilly feigned.

I emailed a conservative friend who's a fan with "How do you like your plagiarizing, serial sex harassing boy now?"

They say the slot is going to Tucker Carlson. There's no WAY Tucker will get the numbers O'Reilly or Meagan Kelly were getting.

The only I think I ever liked was him and Jon Stewart going toe to toe.

It's kind of strange. The most regressive right wing ideologues are getting their moment in the sun at the same moment that their mass media reps are falling apart over serial sexual harrassment. America loves those ideas but can't stand those people. Maybe they need some better reps.

CNN is reporting that he was "widely disliked" at Fox.

He visited the Vatican and met the Pope today in a "V.I.P." line. Probably engaged in a bunga bunga party at the moment.

Type "bill o'reilly" in the youtube search engine, and once you get as far as the apostrophe, the phrase "bill o'reilly freakout" comes up. Gone, but not forgotten!

Still, can you blame him? A Sting video, for Pete's sake!

After posting that, I looked at some other clips, and it occurred to me that, up to now, I've managed to avoid seeing any footage of him ever, not even a few seconds. Has this guy really been around for 30 years? He sure points a lot when he talks, doesn't he? Is that his shtick?

What the...

"I've got a country that's in a transition, political transition, alright? I've got a kids' book that I want millions of kids to look at. That's what I'm interested in."

Sounds like a regular Bennett Cerf here.

Actually, "why now" (as opposed to "a long time ago") is the unanswered question.

I reckon this comment has it about right:
