One of the most astonishing things is that he was daft enough to do it on a work computer instead of nipping to the bog with his mobile like anyone else. The stupidity of it is surely very unnerving.

He is 61. Unless he is unusual, I doubt he would know how to do that. In fact i find the whole guilty until proved innocent nature of all these recent accusations to be unsettling at the very least. However, political point scoring is now clearly far more important than the truth.

You're right in that I have no idea about the truth behind the discovery. I haven't been following the news on it at all to be honest. If it is true though, I would find it hard to believe that he would be in Government and not know how to access the Internet on his phone. He's 61 not 161. And I'm pretty sure he knows how to go to the bog and shut the door.

The police seem pretty convinced about it. And, anyway, I'm talking about the searches for p*rn happening in the House.

Who believes the fucking Police? Really?

And is there really some kind of witch hunt in the house looking for po*n on their computers?

Who on earth is coordinating that?

What the fuck is going on here?

Even if it was a shared computer, the files woul be attached to his login. Unless he lets anyone use that, which would also be a sacking offence for a SoS with access to top secret info.

Fine. So let's see that connection before we condemn him to the gallows.

In 2015

Attempts to access websites classified as p*rn*graphy were made almost 700 times a day by computers inside Parliament last year, it has been reported.

Almost 250,000 attempts were made in total, according to data released by the Palace of Westminster’s IT department under Freedom of Information (FoI) laws.

The figures, down from around 800 a day according to similar FoI requests two years ago, are likely to include a large number of “visits” made unintentionally, most commonly via unwanted internet pop-ups.

And I believe this year it was down again but still over 100,000.
Am I virtue signalling again? When's the last time any of us was hit by a pop-up that was p*rn based? When not also accessing p*rn.

it takes a special kind of twat to futher endanger a Uk citizen after Boris made another fuckup a few days ago. Step forward Michael Gove, to further muddy the water trying to defend Johnson.

I think the point is that he did not have exclusive access to this terminal. So nobody knows if he was a secret p*** fiend. everyone just assumes the worst because he is a tory. Which is the crux of the matter. All this bollocks about what he should be doing as a public servant is just the usual faux outrage used to beat the government with. It does nothing but fuel mistrust of politicians in general. If he were a labour MoP , then you would insisting he couldn't possibly be guilty and it must be a civil servant of some sort. Fucking rubbish.

I've had them now and again when accessing streaming sites for sport. Though I'm not sure that's something politicians ought to be doing at work either...

Yomp, I stopped talking about Green pages ago. You seem to find it ok that there were almost 250,000 attempts to access p*rn two years ago. Hmm, what should those people be doing as public servants? Oh, sorry, I'm using this to beat the government again.

Yes. If you continue to quote every single fuck up by Conservatives, you are virtue signalling and beating up the Govt.

It's truth, Jim, but not as we know it.

Even if it was a shared terminal, any files downloaded would have his id against them. Unless he hands out his login details to anyone. For which I would expect him to be sacked as it is a more serious offence. (Depending on the nature of the porn.)

I'm amazed the network is not more tightly regulated.

We can't access this shit using the Scottish government network for example.
