Well that's a billion pounds down the drain. There is no way on earth that the DUP wants to cause another election by being seen to effectively vote what currently passes for a government out of office.

Someone's going to have some pretty snazzy new bowler hats and sashes for that kind of money.

It's times like this one really misses - if only slightly and only for a microsecond - Captain Sword.

It's a shame as that £1bn could have paid for all those new ID cards that EU residents will have to have.

Oh well, I'm sure there's a cheaper solution. Sew a special badge onto their sleeves, something like that.

Wales and Scotland are not happy with the money given to NI, understandably. Will May be the PM to lose Scotland?

No, but would imagine that Scotland and Wales might be moved to start boning up on the Barnett formula and seeing if there are ways they can demand/get a grant/hand out proportional to the one May gifted to the DUP in her pathetic attempt to stay in power...

So what do we think about Corbyn sacking those frontbenchers?

yeah, Labour is providing SUCH effective opposition to Brexit.
Christ.
One of those frontbenchers is my local MP (Catherine West) and I guess I'm pleased that she took a stand on this, although again, no one who is in any way a Remainer should really be associated with Labour.

Entirely predictable and I would say, entirely correct in terms of appearing to act as a Leader of a party (something he was being heavily criticised for until recently). You can't really have front bench rebellions whilst appearing to lead the party.

However - it doesn't sit well with me personally. I don't like his position on Brexit and never have.

But... if it's a choice between Corbyn as leader or Chuka Umunna.... well, I know where my conscience lies.

Still, whilst he's swatting down shadow cabinet rebellions, he isn't colluding with terrorists I suppose.

Silver linings and all that.

Well... I don't think so under Labour (even under Corbyn). He at least understands that we aren't exactly in the driving seat, something May and her party are seemingly incapable of processing.
