Hellfire! Great news! Cue internal chaos in the GOP. May they tear each other limb from limb.
In the meantime, Steve Vladeck ably illuminates the obvious hypocrisy of purported legal conservatives trying, through their federal congressional offices, to undo what the States have done. If you’re an originalist or a strict constructionist, it should be total nonsense.

I’m not following what’s going on but if there are objections and debate, it could go on for many hours. Then again, Pelosi and McConnell will be inclined to ramp down any drama as best as they can. But I think there’s only so much they can do.

The Georgia race was supposed to be counted by 1 p.m. which I assume was EST, which would be passed at this point. Maybe it was 1 p.m. PST which would be a little more than 2hrs from now. They may just be running behind and will announce soon. It’s looking good for the Dems.
This is not the year to think about what we don’t have.
It is the year we should be grateful for what we do have.

The attempted overthrow of democracy is happening as we type, directly incited by Trump - "let's walk down Pennsylvania Avenue".
And he has turned on Pence big time.

You’d like to think unbelievable, but this move by Trump is entirely predictable. He is a criminal fighting for his life.

Absolutely predictable. But still unbelievable. This is insurrection. An attempted coup.

just to say the second race has been called. i mean, dave wasserman called it in the wee hours (i haven't seen him wrong yet, not that i have been reading him foreverrr or anything, mwhaha) but the media has called it now.
i don't know the final number yet, but earlier, ossoff was over 17,000 votes... which is more than biden won georgia.
both dems in georgia have won enough to go past a recount. this matters as well.
amazing. fantastic.

I'll be interested to hear if any of the Republican senators and representatives cowering in their offices in the Capitol building would feel the same right now.
