Good. I told you I wasn’t going to argue with you. I’m sure Jimbo will be along any time now. Argue with him.

I blocked him in the name of being considerate to everyone else here. Kind of a New Year’s resolution.

Meanwhile - be a dick if you want to be a dick. I’m not going to join you at it.

Again - trying to contribute less to thread pollution here. Be an asshole to me by PM if you want. I don’t care. But whatever your old beef is with me - it can’t be fascinating to anyone else.

Sounds like a good plan.

Above is Jimmy Dore's take on Pay-Go and he gives Cenk Uger credit for chastising all but three new progressive congress people for going along with leader Pelosi and what appears to be a not liberal/progressive, austere block to the Bernie-type benefits. However, the issue gets muddied near the end of the video where there is some confusion over the older Pay-Go Act (law) and the new Pay-Go rule. Apparently Pay-Go is already a law which, I guess, the Republicans happily break. Then Jimmy gets an email from a stranger who says the new "rule" can somehow waive the "law," which makes the "rule" a boon to progressives if they want to enact Medicare For All or free college. Jimmy's next point is that if this is so then why have the Democrats not said so. And that reminds me of Davey's seemingly valid point that the new rule could act as a block to funding the border wall. So my question to Davey (if he peeks) why did the Democrats not tout nor explain the wall blocking nor law-waiving advantage of the new rule? Meanwhile the progressive pundits and progressive people are up in arms over the rule. Ro Khana has said his bit. Someone, other than Davey and a lone e-mailer, someone in the Dem leadership needs to do some explaining. What, Ms Pelosi, is exactly the advantage of the new Democratic Pay-Go rule.

Reasons To Believe In Trump’s Syria Withdrawal Are Vanishing

... I’ll be the first to cheer if US military involvement in Syria does end, but I’m not getting my hopes up. Instead, I will continue ignoring the verbiage and watching the behavior. In a world where narrative manipulation is the key to real power, it’s impossible to take anyone close to power at their word.

I did get a little het up, a bit more pro-Trump when he made the announcement but like so much these days, everything is pending. The Mueller report, how the Dems will do in congress. Just have to wait and see what happens and take what people say with many grains of salt.

Yeah, I dunno - I have been giving him a chance but I am really beginning to suspect he doesn't really know what he's doing.

Goodness gracious me.

Trump's addressing the nation tonight. I figure we'll get sniffy teleprompter Trump, but who the Hell knows?

Where do you think we'll end up on a scale of "I resign" --------- "martial law" :?:

That’s the question, I suspect. Presumably, they’re laying the groundwork to use emergency powers while also trying to make the Democrats look bad. Will he stick to the script or will he say some (extra) crazy (unscripted) shit. I’ll find out from Twitter, I imagine.
