So, Trump in Puerto Rico. Just a few quick things.

1. Trump contrasts Maria with "a real catastrophe like Katrina. [There are] Sixteen versus literally thousands of people" dead. (Katrina death toll, per FEMA: 1,836, I believe) (my emphasis)

2. Trump to hurricane victim in Puerto Rico: "Have a good time."

Video here, I don't know if it's possible to embed these: https://twitter.com/JuddLegum/status/915268434874814465

3. Trump lobs rolls of paper towels to victims in a church (I'm surprised he didn't use one of those t-shirt guns).

See, that proves that he didn't mishandle the response!

I don't know what you Anericans should be more ashamed of: the fact you elected this guy, or the fact you still haven't got shot of him.

I made that same joke...ON FACEBOOK!
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

PUPPIES!

We further have learned that most [Russia-placed FB] ads weren’t for or against a specific candidate, but rather addressed supposedly controversial issues that the mainstream media insists were meant to divide the United States and thus somehow undermine American democracy.

Except, it turns out that one of the issues was puppies.

As Mike Isaac and Scott Shane of The New York Times reported in Tuesday’s editions, “The Russians who posed as Americans on Facebook last year tried on quite an array of disguises. … There was even a Facebook group for animal lovers with memes of adorable puppies that spread across the site with the help of paid ads.”

https://consortiumnews.com/2017/10/04/t ... e-puppies/

I know, Davey, it's that waskley old Wobert Pawwy again. And damn his eyes, he editorializes again!

I realize that lots of Democrats were upset about Hillary Clinton’s humiliating defeat and don’t want to believe that she could have lost fairly to a buffoon like Donald Trump. So, they are looking for any excuses rather than looking in the mirror...

But yellow journalism is not the way to shed light into darkness; it only blinds Democrats from seeing the real reasons behind Trump’s appeal to many working-class whites who feel disaffected from a Democratic Party that seems disinterested in their suffering.

Yes, I know that some Democrats are still hoping against hope that they can ride Russia-gate all the way to Trump’s impeachment and get him ridden out of Washington D.C. on a rail, but the political risk to Democrats is that they will harden the animosity that many in the white working class already feel toward the party.

^^^ First there weren't any ads, then the ads were unpersuasive, then it's back to the same old Hillary-defeat analysis, after a brief detour of fist-shaking at the MSM. Whatever, this is is a sideshow.

Sorry about the flooding, here's some paper towels.

I have to say, I was reading a report about this and I was laughing out loud at some of this stuff. I mean, it's so absurd, so ridiculous, so obscene. Paper towels? The remark about the budget being out of whack? Have a good time? The "island, surrounded by water, big water...ocean water" line?

I understand why others wouldn't find this particular shit funny of course. Maybe I'm just losing the plot.

What a world.

Oh I'm taking a voyeuristic pleasure in quite a lot of it I have to admit. I'm fascinated to see how bad he will get.
Admittedly I might feel rather different emotions when he blows us all up.

It's that thing when real life is scripting itself like a comedy sketch. SNL couldn't write anything funnier if they tried. Just the fact that he was throwing paper towels man.

Laughing is all you've got sometimes.

IMO President TRUMP is by far the biggest douchebag that's held that job in my lifetime. still, it's astonishing the amount of Deja Vu I feel as he swings his wrecking ball.

Here we go again with the taxes. "Blue Collar/ working class" voters are going to reliably cheer while the tax burden is shifted to THEM - again - in broad fucking daylight. They will reliably jeer should another Clinton or Obama move it back off their shoulders a teensy little bit with cries of socialism and taking away their guns as they do.

I mean, what the fuck?

I think most of these comedians would be sacked if trump wasn't around. They seem to struggle with non trump related jokes/sketches. Good to see alec Baldwin though.

Which non trump sketches are the ones you are referring to?

Conservatives talk like this: "blaw blaw blaw"
Liberals talk like this: "nyah nyah nyah"

Because this is so interesting a time, I go to the Pew Research Center to see what studies they're doing on politics and the media.

Here's a good one that came out on press coverage of the President: http://www.journalism.org/2017/10/02/co ... vironment/

Too bad Jimbo's off at some festival when he could finally be getting his mitts on these FaceBook ads that didn't exist and even if they did, didn't work, even though they were looked at by millions of people and appear to have whipped some people into various kinds of frenzies (anti-Muslim, anti-black, whatever, take your pick) as evidenced by cries for blood on message boards, although those cries may have just come from bots, which certainly have nothing to do with any charges of "interfering" with the election!

Leaving soon for festival. Even if Russian planted ads of opposing opinions in order to sow dissension amid the US populace it would be like pouring water into a lake already filled with varying opinions. It'd be the dumbest propaganda ploy ever.

Bernie is a socialist! Hillary is a hawk! Trump is a philanderer! Duh.
