You have it all exactly backwards.

1. Mueller’s task WAS NOT to find a Trump Russia Connection.
2. The question is not whether they had an effect on the election (also not Mueller’s task) but to find out if they tried and what they tried so that we can determine if any laws were broken and so we can fix any vulnerabilities that have been exploited.[/quote]

(b) The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confirmed by then-FBI Director James B. Comey in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including:

(i) any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and

(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and

(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a).

(c) If the Special Counsel believes it is necessary and appropriate, the Special Counsel is authorized to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters. . . . .

Not dening that this new burst of Russiamania doesn't fall under the purview of Mueller's investigation but his number one task is pretty much what I said it was.

You're right, it is in there. I should have pulled that before I posted. Two minor comments. First, that is a sub-ground of the second main issue. Second, "investigating" is not the same as "finding."

In response to this underwhelming revelation, Democrats and Never-Trumpers are howling for new Cold War escalations with Russia. This despite the fact that this administration has already killed Russians in Syria, greatly escalated nuclear tensions with Russia, allowed the sale of arms to Ukraine (a move Obama refused for fear of angering Moscow), established a permanent military presence in Syria with the goal of effecting regime change, forced RT and Sputnik to register as foreign agents, expanded NATO with the addition of Montenegro, assigned Russia hawk Kurt Volker as special representative to Ukraine, shut down a Russian consulate in San Francisco and expelled Russian diplomats as part of continued back-and-forth hostile diplomatic exchanges.

Now even H.R. McMaster admits that there was Russian meddling in our election. Then Trump responds by essentially agreeing (while denying collusion).

Will Jimbo be the last denier standing?

Can't read NYT beyond paywall.

But now I see where you get your bullshit. You subscribed to the NYT and now because you paid you feel you have to read it.

Ah man...what a disappointment!

All you’ve got is the “kill the messenger” routine?

BTW - I don’t subscribe to the NYT. Nor do I read it with any regularity. You want the same content from another paper?

I don’t care what you believe.

But if you are going to continue to argue to the rest of us that Russian election interference is a hoax - it would be fun to see how you twist yourself in knots to do so.

But if you want, we can keep vamping until the folks at Consortium News feed you your next line.

I don't have the time nor the energy right now to operate and examine all the bullshit from the article you sent but below is a link to a breakdown of a UK Observer editorial which you would probably like in its original form but when it is cut open and its guts examined I can see the cancer that has spread even all the way to England.

TRUMP says he never said things he’s said. He’s willing to accuse the FBI of letting children die in a paranoid word salad designed to cover his own ass with abosutely no obligation to be intelligent or consistent while he does so.

He’s changed his story, a lot. It’s as simple as that. Maybe Glen Greenwald hasn’t but TRUMP has.

As I figured. You can’t make an argument. Glad you found a link somewhere. Great.

But as Snee points out...now even Trump admits that it happened. How far into this corner do you intend to back yourself?

Trump is a egotistical narcissist the like of which I have never seen except for Biff in Back To The Future. He has no empathy nor sympathy for anyone. I do wish now that Hillary were the President, I'll concede that to Davey. But the Russia matter is a different problem and it is based upon a lie that has spread and morphed into a paranoiac mania we haven't seen the time when Marty McFly met his 16 year old mother, back when Reagan was a movie star. I just hope that anyone who is buying into all the lies will wake up. Maybe my being in Japan is protecting my brain and I'm not infected.

Davey, the 13 arrest bombshell lets Mr. Tangerine Man off the hook. Now he's free to say whatever he wants about Russia --- which indicates that he was never cozy with Putin after all.

A paranoiac mania so severe it has infected the TRUMP administration?
That’s one HELL of a mania!

He admits Russia attempted to effect the outcome and denies saying otherwise.

There’s no paranoia.

We know that there were Russsian trolls. We know that the Trump administration welcomed their intrusion on our election, if they didn’t also actively collude with them.

What you don’t get is that almost nobody blames the Russians for doing this any more than we’d blame a cat for killing a mouse. We GET that we’ve done the same, and that to a certain degree ALL nations attempt to manipulate each other’s system.

If there is mania among liberals regarding Russia, it is mania to see Trump exposed. We want his finances exposed. We want his conflicts of interest exposed. And yes - we want his willingness to treason exposed. Beyond that - we’d like our government and Facebook/Twitter to build in some safeguards against the same shit happening again.

That’s all.

Nobody is clamoring for WWIII. Anybody who defends Russia based on that fear is manipulating you.

Does anybody here disagree with what I’ve said above? If not, Jimbo - will you finally admit to yourself that you’ve been had?
