Re: President Donald J. Trump
you got any True Believers in your coffee clatch? man, I think TRUMP supporters heads are going to explode pretty soon. On one hand they insist every accuser is a lying, plotting Democrat and on the other hand -- even if he DID do it, well so what?
so what!!! Rape urges apparently rival Acne as a rite of passage for American Teen aged boys. They say he didn't do it and the accusers are all a bunch of liars but, just in case, they don't really give a fuck. it's mind numbing.

Or, indeed, for his current appointment! You've got to hand it to Avenetti, he is loaded for BEAR. It seems the way he's making his charges challenges BK's right to sit on any court at all.

You may call it whataboutism but how is it that Democrats aren't as incensed about Bill Clinton's behavior, not to mention Hillary's seeming toleration? The Kavanaugh accusations could be true but so are the Clinton accusations. That this is more about politics and not about protecting victims stinks.

It’s a very special brand of whataboutism - whataboutHillaryism?
First of all, some Democrats did speak up about this (Juanita Broaddrich’s accusation of rape) — Jerry Brown alluded to it on National television. Michelle Goldberg still brings it up. Second of all, it was investigated . The FBI at the behest of the Starr commission decided that they couldn’t tell if it happened or not. I think there’s a big goddam difference between sicking the FBI on Bill Clinton and “fast tracking” the process because we need to go clobber Roe V. Wade.
Shit Jimbo, rape allegations about Bill Clinton were nearly as big a topic in Clinton 2016 as Goldman Fuckin’ Saks! Trump had a press conference after the access Hollywood tape just to remind America that Bill Clinton was accused of rape. Alex Jones offered people cash prizes to be seen on TV in a “Bill Clinton is a Rapist” t-shirt. They won’t EVER shut up about it. What are Democrats supposed to do? Sit in a corner and knit? We get a red card because a Dem president was accused of rape? It’s “political” to express concern when a snotty privileged Judge gets accused of it? Fuck that. Here’s an early morning christmas surprise — it’s ALL political. His very nomination is political. Asking for an investigation is fair.

Could Fonzie have served on the supreme court?
Heeeyyy!
No, Fonzie was a rapist. He'd stun beautiful women with a magical snap of his fingers and in no time at all be making out with them. That's foreplay. To sex. Yuck.
A cartoon, a gag of course, but we all went along with it, men and women, little boys and girls, too. Yuck.

If Fonzie were barely 50 and a member in good standing of the Federalist Society, then things might have turned out very differently.

What exactly is your comment about? It sure isn’t about protecting victims.
As a party, I think Democrats have come around to the belief that making excuses for Clinton was a kind of original sin. It’s been discussed pretty extensively in the wake of #metoo. Here is one of MANY examples:
https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics ... y-resigned
Meanwhile Democrats have attempted to make up for their past by being better in the present. We’ve booted two Senators (Franken and Conyers) and have held other formerly admired men accountable.
So why are you reaching back 20 years for a false equivalence? What exactly is your agenda?
Don’t answer. It is obvious. It’s going to stop a war or something.

Because it was thirty fucking years ago and Clinton isn't up for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

Re: President Donald J. Trump
And yet, he gets asked about it more than ever. Bill Clinton was recently on TV to promote his stupid book and he did NOT get softballs. He got many #metoo era questions in what I'm sure he thought would be softball media appearances. I don't think this is out of line. He was accused, he still gets asked, now more than ever because of the times we live in. Well, the Republicans live in this time too. it's not just a pipe-wrench to wave around at others.

Hilary was certainly called outt for perceived hypocrisy over it and her statements about Bill's accusers. Considering Trump's razor thin margin of victory, you could argue her poor handling of that situation could have cost her the presidency. Even though no one is saying she ever asaulted anyone.
Anyway the Clinton's are deader than Disco. Get with the times! Kavanaugh is hot right now.

Point taken re Clinton's peccadilloes vs Kavanaugh's.
Maybe it's a generational thing but getting laid, "balling," and keeping count, the Playboy philosophy, the sexual revolution, the new pill, calling women "chicks", may seem anachronistic and boorish today but it was an actual thing back in the 60s and 70s. I was never very good at the game. Randy Newman's "Maybe I'm Doing It Wrong" rang true to my ears. I guess my indignant reaction to K getting called out 30 years after the assault is me projecting how I'd feel if a woman I had sex with in the 70s suddenly today in public said, "Jimbo, yes, that old, fat, bald man over there, in 1972 said he loved me and then left in the morning."

Yes it is being called a "generational thing." You used to be allowed to not just force yourself on women but stick things into them without getting in trouble, if you were a dude. That is not quite as true in the current generation.

Umm...you do know what he's accused of, right? It goes a bit beyond being boorish.

Also, he was nominated by an unindicted co-conspirator.

Caitlin nails it again!
The Enemy Of Humanity Will Never, Ever Look Like This Again
Trump, like all US presidents, is entirely beholden to an alliance of plutocrats and secretive government agencies which comprises the “steady state” and ensures the continuation of policies and agendas throughout the coming and going of America’s official elected government. This alliance spans far outside America’s borders to any government, agency, oligarch or faction it can absorb into its blob, and the agendas and policies it protects and advances are not geared toward the interests of any nation or its people. It is an alliance of the powerful geared exclusively toward amassing more power for the powerful.

I don't know if anyone saw Trump insult ABC newsperson, Cecilia Vega. I hate the guy. When you insult someone, and she calls you on it, at least stand up for what you said. He's a coward.
