Does anyone think this place could sustain a discussion about politics that didn't have this "everybody vs. Jimbo" fulcrum that this one seems to rest on? Not because I want to give him a break, but I I feel like this scattered logic that's always getting taken to task is kind of a distraction.

I don't want to think about having to "prove" to Jimbo that he (that you, Jimbo :) ) took a contradictory stance on something 12 pages ago. It's wearing me out.

I'd say treat Jimbo the same way people have treated my posts about powerpop in Yakety Yak.

Jimbo's not a loony, he's a propagandist who is here to confuse us and turn us against each other.

You folks trying to talk sense into him are the ones acting like loonies.

And you wonder why Democrats are losers.

Go ahead and ignore useless forever wars, massive fraud, corruption, plain and simple idiocy, a massive inability to acknowledge your own party's failings, failure to see how the politicians you revere are as corrupt as the ones you oppose … I despair for the future when good guys like you, BCBers, behave like fascists.

Of course Trump's blundering policies are hurtful and children and families need to be treated decently but you need to understand that this is not all TRUMP!!! doing by any means. If you want to beat Trump you need to get real, get to the root, really drain the swamp and fix American foreign policies all over the globe.

Good luck America.

(Oh brother.)

How US Policy in Honduras Set the Stage for Today’s Mass Migration

Under the Obama administration In 2014, more than 68,000 unaccompanied Central American children were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico boundary. There were more than 60,000 in 2016.

The mainstream narrative often reduces the causes of migration to factors unfolding in migrants’ home countries. In reality, migration is often a manifestation of a profoundly unequal and exploitative relationship between migrant-sending countries and countries of destination. Understanding this is vital to making immigration policy more effective and ethical…

As usual you write fluff. Should I have said "liked" instead of "revere?" What pray tell have I not heard. Humor an old, slightly deaf man and tell me what. Because if it's Hillary Clinton to whom I'm referring, hell yeah I am. You'd eat her day old turds from a doggie bowl if she but gave you the nod. And if that's the one point that makes me lose all credibility then it is you who is not listening. Go back to your oatmeal you boring man.

Trump orders creation of ‘Space Force’ as sixth military branch

“I am hereby directing the Department of Defense and Pentagon to immediately begin the process necessary to establish a Space Force as the sixth branch of the Armed Forces,” Trump said. “Our destiny beyond the Earth is not only a matter of national identity, but a matter of national security.”

“Space is a war-fighting domain, just like the land, air, and sea,” Trump told the crowd. “I said, ‘Maybe we need a new force, we’ll call it the Space Force,’ and I was not really serious. Then I said, ‘What a great idea,’ maybe we’ll have to do that,” the President said.

“So think of that, Space Force,” Trump continued. “Because we are spending a lot and we have a lot of private money coming in, tremendous. You saw what happened the other day, and tremendous success. From the very beginning, many of our astronauts have been soldiers and Airmen, Coast Guard men and Marines. And our service members will be vital to ensuring America continues to lead the way into the stars.”

Space is a war fighting domain? Here I was thinking it was science stuff. Live & learn.

Going into a big decision day for the Supremes in which I expect they’ll get some things wrong, someone on Twitter pointed out that Thomas could be a more likely retirement announcement than Kennedy, and I can definitely see that.

In the meantime, Axios reports that Trump’s approval ratings are going up while Mueller’s are going down. What a world.
