You're better off with two slices of bread.

Not a fan of the aul crisp sandwich?

Today I bought some garlic and pepper Doritos available only in Japan. The black color I believe is from squid ink. Haven't tasted them yet.

Who likes Lays!? Nobody actually likes them, do they? You only eat them because they’re there.

Mmmmmmmm, squid ink!
The reason LAY’s is winning the poll is because we’ve eaten LAY’s and we like voting in polls. When I say “we” I mean, of course, myself and the mouse in my pocket.

I’ve seen a few of those other brands in those stores that cater to anglophiles and people who don’t live over there anymore. They cost too much money and the expiration dates are written in secret code!

Would 2018 not be a perfect time to bring back the Frito Bandito? It'd bring more Latins onboard the Frito-Lay train of fine products.

"Lady Doritos" brand tanks before it even hits the shelves.

Who would have thought?

"Global chief exec Indra Nooyi told Freakonomics Radio: 'Although women would love to crunch [chips] loudly, lick their fingers and pour crumbs from the bag into their mouth afterwards, they prefer not to do this in public.'"

As usual, Wonkette brings it:

Finally! A Dorito For Me, A Woman.

For far too long, ladies like me have had to sit by the wayside as we watch the menfolk enjoying the delicious flavored tortilla chips known to the world as Doritos. As much as we might try to enjoy them ourselves, certain things have always gotten in the way. The crunching, for one, is far too loud! As a woman, I pride myself on being as accommodating as humanly possible, and “too loud” crunching could interrupt a man when he is explaining to me why I am wrong, or watching his favorite TV show. How can one be seen and not heard with all that CRUNCHING going on? Chomp chomp chomp! So unladylike!

I thought Doritos comeback to the rumor was good.

They said the make Doritos for Women. They're called Doritos.

I like Lays. In fact, I prefer them over other brands. Lots of flavors too.

I like to dip them into my chili with beans.

For chili, I prefer corn chips. They're sturdier.

Since it's been revived and most likely without Minnie throwing a wobbly about throwing in a pic of favorite flavors.... This is the one here down under I prefer by far!

My son likes those, not the same brand, in his lunch.

He thinks they're healthier.

I like these. Ritz is selling them as crackers, but they're closer to chips. Little marketing ploy, if you ask me.

Do pretzels count? If so, I'll go with Hammond's.

If they can almost take down a president, then they're good enough for me.

We have those too, they are pretty good. Similarly, there is a version of Arnotts here that is similar and their Light- version, with less salt in it is tasty too.

They've got all these kinds of hybrid things out now - chips made of beans, "popped" corn chips, etc. They're all pretty terrible, as far I can tell.

Good shout on the Zapp's, Count, love me those. Utz, not so much. They're out of PA, so they don't hold the charm of limited availability/exoticism.

When you say "rumor," it makes it sound like the CEO didn't say they were developing the idea, whereas my understanding is that she did in fact say that. The extremity of the backlash may have been unwarranted (or not, that's debatable), but that's something else.

Calbee is the number one Japanese maker of chips and on the market shelves right next to Calbee's "lightly salted" chips, the normal potato chip, are the seaweed and salt flavored ones. I usually choose the normal chips but these are fine. When i first came to Japan a good Japanese chip was rare. The best ones may have been Pringles but now the Japanese make a fantastic variety of potato chips.

Calbee is common in Hong Kong too. I think they even have a factory here. They’re fine but not up to the standard of UK brands but will do at a pinch. I like their French fry type things (jagabee?)
