None of this makes any sense to me. Was there a BCB in 2000?

No there wasn't.

Tangibly perhaps not but in spirit, who knows?

the key thing is its always been a moving feast and who is to say today is any worse than then it first became a board. It was an is a bunch of folks, that will change but evolve.

One thing that is for sure is that some folks taste in music remains shite, however many years down the line.

It was in 2005, more likely... and the list (untagged and therefore not very informative, it must be said) represents the contributions to a BCB sampler. The song was supposed to be the essence of each member's individual taste - I sent in Andy Partridge's "History of Rock'n'Roll in 20 Seconds" from the Morgan Fisher's Miniatures album, IIRC.

This reminds me of the handful of tribute albums done by the musically creative members of BCB, I only have a White Album (with lavish artwork by Mychael from Berlin, another long gone pillar of the community. :|), I also remember a VU and Nico and I'm sure there were others .

The projects were great fun (probably more so for participants than anyone else). You haven't lived till you've heard Quaco's "Revolution No 9"!

There've also been a couple of photo projects, a picture a day for a month kind of thing.

I really enjoyed that one !

Wasn't there also a project where everyone simultaneously took a photo of any scene in their home at precisely 9 pm on a Saturday evening ?
It was fairly impromptu and everyone was rushing around, plumping up their cushions like when you've got company calling. Sensi managed to get her hand into her shot, pointing to their sitting room clock bang on 9pm
Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

In answer to the original question, perhaps the In The Jungle Groove sync listen was the last time it was legitimately great

It was certainly a sort of high point.
