So, my ex originally dated my roommate, Julio, who's a funny guy. She moved out to California from Austin, and I asked her one time why she started dating Julio.

"He was funny," was her response.

Most of my friends are funny - they were always voted "Funniest in School" in yearbooks from jr. high on. Funny people don't hang out with people who aren't funny but I was just funny in a quieter way.

My first reaction to when my wife told me she thought she was miscarrying while we were grocery shopping was to shout out, "Clean up in aisle nine." It's my way of reacting to pain.

She appreciated the comedy because it diffused the seriousness of the situation.

I'd choose funny. Most realy funny people I believe are pretty intelligent. Lots of intelligent people on the other hand score negative
on the funny scale.
