Or for very long.

I find myself pretty much the same about the ERA of every Giants pitcher since the turn of the (last) century, or the rebound % of every point guard to have played for the Golden State Warriors since 1950, but each to their own hey Sloop?

I was also worried you'd pick up on this and take it as a personal affront.

My other choice was what capes Keith Emerson wore on EL&P's '73 tour.

Yes you do :D

It may just be the writing style but it always makes you sound like a sort of self appointed intermediary, for reasons I can never fathom!

You and Derek should get together. You could commiserate for hours on what bugs the both of you about me.

But be prepared to hear about how I sleep, eat my food, and drink water.

I do think Sloop has done the best job of any of us of staying in touch with the people who DON'T live anywhere near him that don't post any more (or as much) and also aren't on FB (or don't post much there either).

If he's bragging about it, I honestly think he's entitled. :D

How do you know that? Because he talks about it.
People on BCB are in touch with people from all over the world, but don't talk about it. So you wouldn't know.
Not that it matters, but just to separate facts from assumptions!

"Yes, but with reservations..."...Just about covers it...Being an imdb refugee, I've found it tough to find a footing on this board, but I have some friends here (I think) and the discussions are unique enough to still be interesting...I would miss it if it were to vanish...

Same as the venerable Dayodead, really. I mean, I visit daily, but I still feel like a bit of an outsider due to not being here during the mythical golden age, when it was all high-falutin' philosophy and 500 new threads a day about Paul McCartney's favourite plectrum. I like most of the posters here, but there's very few posters with any musical common ground, as the common ground here is generally a dank patch of grass in 1965. Pity more of the imdb refugees didn't stick, because the imdb2 site is a bit rubbish.

I do care about it. I am "still with reservations" as I don't think my level of friendship with anyone here is as strong as others have, but I still very much enjoy the level of intellectual discourse (even if it is primarily a pedestrian left-of-centre orthodoxy) and wit. The intensity of the past has gone, but there are still lots of great threads and chat to be had.

I’m here for _Fishy’s Beatles mentions. He’s obsessed :)

You can't because actually there are hardly any. Some might be silent ones for sure, I'll give you that.

I originally wrote "500 new threads about post-polka", rather than Macca's plectrum. But that sounded much cooler than what probably transpired.
