42401 - Ferret found in woods
Found a young albino ferret lost in the woods tonight, we are looking after it, has anyone lost a ferret?

Nothing of note happened over here for days on end.

It is dull, gray weather, with incidental showers of rain. During the whole weekend no one could even be seen walking a sidewalk, a path, a street.

Only sometimes one or two elderly men passed, clad in spandex gear, on racing bicycles. They prolly imagined they were still going as strong as they were in their 20s, which was in the mid-sixties (perhaps they saw the Beatles live, once, long ago).

All in all, your Dutch reporter can in all honesty say that the situation here is pants.

Over to Aberystwyth, now?

Wonderful piece. I fear I am one of those people who have chided you for underrating good songs in your ratings on Facebook, however...

Delighted for you nonetheless.

It cost $11 million to capture alleged cop killer Eric Frein. How much would they have spent had he shot a pizza delivery man?

Regionally, it's Ferguson/NYC protesters blocking Oakland police headquarters. Almost every night last week, protesters blocked local freeways and main thorofares.

In the city where I live, the local paper is reporting that the headquarters for Sunset, a magazine with the motto, "The Guide to Western Living," has been sold. Sunset is a regional lifestyle magazine that's been around for years. They do a really nice job featuring landscaping, interior and exterior design, travel and recipes. Their test kitchens are legendary. Their garden book is a bible among home gardeners in California. End of an era.

Pointsettia plants urgently needed!

I need some pointsettia plants rather urgently for some photography next week and can't find any decent ones anywhere. Does anyone have any that I could either buy from you or borrow if you would like them back? I would be very grateful indeed!

Many thanks and fingers crossed!

Built a store but decide you're not going to open it? You could end up paying the lease for 25 years! Poor old Tesco!

DRIFTWOOD

Does anyone have a piece of driftwood that you don’t want or would like to sell. Failing that, and apart from going to the seaside, does anyone know where I can get some?

I often walk along the canal to school to collect this kids with my dog. There's a garden that holds 2 big alsatians - she would love to run up to their garden and bark at them from behind the security of the locked gate before moving on.

They've not been there this week and I was idly curious about it.

Turns out the answer is pretty grim.
