Re: Beetroot V Rhubarb
Don't see rhubarb in these parts. Don't know that it grows this far south. Never really had it except for one time, at the ex's aunt's house in New Jersey. They had a rhubarb pie. Holy shit! That was one badass pie! I'm all for beets, though.

As good as beetroot is, I wouldn't want to make a crumble out of it.

Love both, but beetroot is a regular in our diet, whilst rhubarb is a once in a while, so I'm going to go the old beet...pass the salad cream, please.

That's what I've heard .
Anything that's tastes as good as beetroot and does something for your liver has to be a bonus.
but I don't like the vinegar pickled stuff,it has to be freshly cooked.

Mmm... I'm not sure if there's much that beats sandwich. Certainly not crumble. Curry beats sandwich certainly.

I love both but no longer eat either. Beetroot has too high a sugar content for me, ans rhubarb needs too much added sugar for me.

You can eat rhubarb with Canderel or whatever can't you? My diabetic stepmum makes a whole host of them, including rhubarb, which don't taste too shit but make you fart and crap like buggery.

Re: Beetroot V Rhubarb
They have both been quite popular with food faddists recently, with beetroot being more current and rhubarb forgotten about since 2011, so the voting seems about right.
Beetroot is great with goat's cheese and am having beetroot risotto for my lunch, with red wine, feta and a little parmesan.
