Think Woody Allen sitting at the back of the lecture theatre looking at some girl's tits.

My comments disguise the fact that I don't know nearly enough about either to comment here

Je suis un Marxist, pendant Groucho.

I like Noam but he does seem to arrive to events with opinions that are already fully formed.
Groucho either loved people or detested them. Maybe he loved detesting them. His letters make for very amusing reading.

I go Groucho. In those old movies, Groucho knows he's in a movie and has a considerable advantage over most of his co-stars. It seems like he tried his best to extend this advantage to real life. Maybe this had mixed results but I, for one, really appreciate the effort.

I find few things more beautiful than Groucho dancing.

Coming next: Ian Brown vs Ian Paisley

It's very simple: who do you prefer?

Both Jews. One wasn't a self-hating Jew.

(I am being facitious of course but I'd think a guy named Chomsky would see things from the Israeli/Jewish POV from time to time.)

I'm not sure that makes him a self-hating Jew.

I was being facitious. I never heard the phrase until recent times. I was just having fun with this harsh set of words. Nonetheless, that is a reflection of Chomsky among a vast number of Jews who support Israel, right or wrong. For a fellow Jew to be so outspoken on a topic as dear to Jews as Israel is a shonda.

He changed his mind about universal grammar.

I voted for him.

I guess for Chomsky puts his principles before his ethnicity - as do many other jewish people... but not nearly enough ;)

Perhaps some ethnic Jews might simply hold different principles.

Yes, I suspect that is correct.
