Re: Electric shaver vs razor
I have been shaving electric for a few decades. I recently purchased a tripl-blade thingy and have been using the wet shave method on and off again for a couple of weeks now, whenevr time permits.

I've never used an electrical one, it's always been the old trusty razor for me.
And I agree with SeaOfTunes, the double blade with strip is the best.

An electric was fine for me in my mid to late teens for removing bum fluff. If I used an electric now my face would be cut to ribbons and it'd need a transformer the size of a suitcase to power it. I've sworn by Gillette for the last 20 years.

Re: Electric shaver vs razor
As I have a beard, I only shave once a week. I use a beard trimmer for most of the work and then tidy up with a Gillette razor.

Re: Electric shaver vs razor
I used to get electric shavers as gifts.
I don't look a gift horse in the mouth but I've never had good luck with them.
usually, within two months of getting one, it takes a bite out of my face
I guess the best way to describe it would be "a PINCH"
I don't like that.
I have a little beard trimmer thingy to keep me from turning into "The Fly" otherwise it's "the safety razor" or a disposable every other morning.
I promise not to turn this thread into another "safety razor" lecture but you really should use one if you don't.

Re: Electric shaver vs razor
oh, I'm just teasing. use whatever you like. Me, I like a close shave and I really don't think the disposables do a good job. I use them to maintain my shaves but I love the feel of a good close shave. Not every day (I cut myself too often) but ideally every other. twice a week at the very least.
I've never been comfortable getting a shave from a barber but I find a nice, close shave bracing!

I use a razor with three blades. Electrics just wouldn't get the job done, or they'd destroy my face.
I do occasionally go for a hot towel shave at the barber's for a treat.
