are you wealthy?

The American middle-class is shrinking, so the news tells me. The average US wage quoted was something like three times of what I earn. :(

How are you doing?

Pfft, just the opposite

But I'm working on it, and apart from that I'm happier than I've ever been in my life before. So hey ;)

I'm not at all wealthy. I need to be extremely frugal these days and can live on 2 or 3 quid a day, once bills are paid. It doesn't bother me most of the time.

I do well enough. I'm not living paycheck to paycheck and don't particularly worry about finances much. But I'm hardly wealthy. Let's say "comfortable" although, depending upon your standards, others might not think so. But, then again, I'd imagine most of us - compared to the world at large - are in the top 90%. It's not hard to be once you account for the abject poverty that the vast bulk of humanity lives in.

AKA it's a first world problem.

I get fed up of hearing how lucky we are and how we should be grateful. I haven't been able to afford a holiday in years.
This will be another thread where people will boast about their lifestyle.

By living in squalor I don't ever need to work again!

I just heard Burt Kwok say this on TV.
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

Isn't that what the "What You Bought Today" threads are for?

As some of you know my life changed following my lottery win. I am a millionaire , i have a larger home than before and i do not have to worry about paying the bills. In most ways though my life is the same as it was before just without the worry.

Not me. The gap between the haves and have-nots is widening. I've been camping in a tent in Bridlington and a few days out. But I'm lucky that I can afford a few luxuries like a car, booze and fags. Some don't even have that.

Not wealthy at all, but we're saving for a new house and want to buy a 3 bedroom place rather than a 2 which we could afford right now. This means that I have virtually no money at all (I probably spend about £5 a week in terms of anything that isn't essential - I take lunch with me to work) right now. The fact that we have money in the bank does give me a lot of satisfaction but it's her that I have to be grateful for - my saving ability was non-existent until I met her.

Didn't Joe Moody win the lottery too?

They say things come in 3s so I reckon this Saturday someone else from BCB will win.
