Re: The next to flounce
Are we defining flounce as someone who left in a strop or someone who decided they didn't want to be here any more?

I used to consider a proper flounce to be over-dramatic and attention drawing but now it seems to include people who left quietly too. Broad church, I guess.

He left because he was upset with a few things, but he didn't throw a real shitty, pissy tantrum like most flounces.

JImjim is Irish, so I think that makes him British.

His leaving was the same as most. An argument then off.
I can't think of a real shitty, pissy one...SoT a few years ago? when he kept going and coming back, starting threads to protest his innocence then saying he was seeing lawyers etc

It makes him Irish.

Even if he lives in Aotearoa?
You don't claim him as your own then? Unless he's a pretty handy flanker I suppose....

Re: The next to flounce
The American flounce seems to be more about feeling that the time and energy spent here isn't terribly healthy. If I ever do justify my high vote total here (wishful thinking folks), it would likely be over similar worries, not an argument of any kind. That stuff never bothers me.

I don't think that's true at all. Personally, I wouldn't call what you described a flounce anyway, but Sneelock and Snoop both left after getting into arguments they weren't comfortable with. They were flounces par excelence.
And there was another guy quite recently but I get his board name confused with that of a top poster so I can't give the name in case I offend the wrong person.
Actually, I think you Americans are a big bunch of girlie drama queens and we Brits never behave like that.
Apart from Footy but that was years ago.
Bugger off.

Re: The next to flounce
Both Sneelock and Sloop openly questioned whether their time here was good for them months before they left.
