You're not that surprised,surely?
I am, at two things.
Firstly, the number of 'no' votes. And secondly, the amount of dislike shown towards solarskope and his behaviour. Hopefully it's not reflective of the board as a whole. You miserable fucking cunts.
I voted no. I like him very much. OK?

Re: separate prog section?
Just for the record, I started the thread because I wanted to see whether people wanted a separate prog section. That's why it's titled 'separate prog section' - see? The fact that I think most prog is a smelly pile of dog's doos is neither here nor there.
And I am certainly not trying to impose my views on anyone else, or attempting to be 'an arbiter of taste', or anything similar. Frankly, if people think that, then it says more about them than it does me.
So maybe we can drop this and carry on - but please let's not throw rocks at the subversive elements, however 'unfunny' you find them. God only knows this place needs some personalities.

Re: separate prog section?
of course prog belongs in Yakety-yak. It's not Carlsson's fault that others can't be bothered to make threads and discuss music that they like. It's not his fault that the enthusiasm for YY has waned, he's happy and still having a good time on YY. Why spoil his party? He doesn't go jumping around on other people's threads bad-mouthing whatever topic is being discussed. In fact, I can't remember him ever thread-crapping. It would be demeaning to the prog goons to contain them to a separate section. They're not lepers!

separate prog section?

Actually, either way, I've stopped giving a rat's arse. About what people post, what threads they start, about whether they believe in god, whatever. In fact about BCB in general.
It's stopped being remotely interesting or fun. Time for me to split permanently I think.
Bye.

Re: separate prog section?
A full scale invasion of the forum over at Prog Archives would make an amusing alternative. God knows, that place could do with some quality posts.

So opposing someone who posts a zillion threads a day on prog and thereby clogs up the board from a more broader discussion of other musics now makes me a Nazi? Oh....wow, that's intelligent debate, eh?

The place is ripe for a hostile take-over. I'll lead an assault on their internet radio station dressed as Rick Wakeman, make a bogus broadcast about attacking BCB and we'll have all the justification needed in the eyes of the world.
After that we send in the einsatzgruppen to clean the place out from top to bottom, eliminating any partisan groups supporting Camel and Yes.
Username? Hmm... Prog-Fuhrer. I like that.

FFS...it's not the music that's the bloody problem! It's the dominance of C et al that is the problem. From the other thread on this:
Look at how many threads he posts on an average day and it seems as if he's just doing for the sake of wanting to post something to clog the board up. When does post, he says fuck all. Then the whole board is clogged up with 'Here's a bargain', 'When prog ruled the world'...yada yada yada....I'm sure he and others will turn round and say 'well, where's your contribution then lazy arse?'. But what's the point? When you do, it gets banished to page 2 because he's posted 10 million threads that day on who does the best nose flute solo or what shite is going down cheap on Amazon. I have him on ignore and I never read his posts but he's always there on page 1 with a dozen threads and I think 'why am I still on this forum?' He is too dominant and what was once great fun is now depressing to me and this is maybe why I rarely contribute these days. Frankly - and I'd never thought I'd say this after 6 years - the Hoffman forum is more egalitarian, more informative and more fun.

Re: separate prog section?
This is all getting a bit silly.
Jimjim why not just post some threads of your own instead of getting annoyed at C's threads?
