Wow.

Well, at least it's fairly decisive. And some people were given the opportunity to vent their spleen.

As we were, then.

I am, at two things.

Firstly, the number of 'no' votes. And secondly, the amount of dislike shown towards solarskope and his behaviour. Hopefully it's not reflective of the board as a whole. You miserable fucking cunts.

If you know Adam you can see the stupid shit-eating smirk on his face while he is typing and you don't take anything he posts seriously
But I can see how irritating he must be to people who don't know him.

He stopped being even remotely funny about three years ago though.

Yes absolutely...

Everything by Can, Faust, Neu, Kraftwerk, The Beatles (Pepper and White Album... any others?), Wire (Outdoor Miner has a Mellotron on it) , Stevie Wonder (likes lots of synthesisers)... The Who - they wrote rock operas for fuck's sake - in with them! And clearly most British '60s rock music was proto prog, so should be included..

Lets make a list of all the 'Suppressive' prog music...
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

Well most of us only have his pointless dicking around on BCB to go on to be fair!

They come across as the actions of a deeply sad, and insecure personality, someone who has such a pathetic & lonely existence, they have to get their jollies by trying to piss on other people's chips to hide their own feelings of inadequacy.

And that, m'learned friends, is a characteristic of bullies everywhere and when.

He tries to be, yeah. Or a trolling arsehole.

Actually, either way, I've stopped giving a rat's arse. About what people post, what threads they start, about whether they believe in god, whatever. In fact about BCB in general.
It's stopped being remotely interesting or fun. Time for me to split permanently I think.

Bye.

Totally agree. In fact, if he'd started this thread I would have just ignored it but I was a bit concerned that Coan seemed to be taking the idea seriously and a couple of people on the other thread weren't hurrying to knock the idea down.

It's clear now that it's been much ado about nothing but when this thread started it looked like madness might be afoot.

You weren't there!

Some people might say that you're like America, you, turning up at the end of wars when all the fighting's been done and suggesting everyone chill out and have some chewing gum.
That's what some people might say.

No.

For one, where do you draw the line? As at least one other has pointed out, if you create one for prog, you should create one for other genres.

For another, there are other topics that i think are more deserving of their own separate section before we start subdividing music.

Who is going to define Prog/progressive?

...a separate Coan section? ;)
It's kinda depressing for a music forum to be proud of not knowing musicians.
