You know how it is when you're first starting a relationship with someone? You can't get him/her out of your head?

Well, I had a very bad case of this in the night, couldn't get this lady I am utterly smitten with out of my head. I got very little sleep because of it.
Add to this the fact that my memory was, for no apparent reason, also at the same time throwing up random bursts of legendary French singer Jaques Dutronc's repertoire, I had what felt like a stuck merry-go-round in my head, till at least 5am. I was tossing* & turning all the time.

So I am totally knackered and have no desire to listen to Il est 5h Paris s'eveille, Mini, Mini, Mini, Et Moi, Et Moi Et Moi, or the shenai-sounding section of Hippie Hippie Hoorah for quite some time.

Last night I was at the Peterborough Beer Festival, and found myself sipping Laotian ale while watching a Sex Pistols tribute band.

I'm so happy right now,
I just picked up my guitar for the first time in months and just thrashed away, nice and distorted, random chords, purely for the joy of being alive.

I have just, after living here for the past six years, finally been to the Roman Baths the entire point of the city in which I live.

If the socialists win the election on Sept 15th, cigarettes will become so expensive, I'll have to quit altogether.

Thoughts with you Andy. Today my perspective is 100% improved over what it has been. Looking forward to finding a new place and Fall. My two classes are great despite the random eyes rolling.

I*m in Ottawa at my sister*s house (French keyboard layout - how does one get an apostrophe - or question mark for that matter.

Just came back from seeing my first great-nephew for the first time. I was with my mom who was seeing her first great-grandchild for the first time too. Magical. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I hope it all works out, Griff.

Today I got a short break to 'wet the baby's head' and found --oh joy, oh rapture, oh miracle -- a bar selling proper real ales in Barcelona courtesy of my main foodie/boozing friend. Only had time for four pints before I had to get back to my domestic servitude but they went down EXTREMELY well. Nectar -- I will be back.

More detail about the crumble later.
Right now I'm laid in the bunkbed at my folks house, with a cup of tea and a bowl of muesli and a banana, listening to Radio Four and reading the Grauniad. In a bit I'm off for a run in the valley bottom. In the meantime I'm looking out of the window at the horses in the field, galloping round like an animated fairground ride.

I am in Luang Prabang sweating my tits off. It's too hot to do anything so I'm having a wee browse and listening to Magical Mystery Tour.

I've never heard of those two being put togther in the same crumble before.
My mum did (and may still do) a rhubarb and DATE crumble, something her mum did during WW2, using dried imported dates. It works pretty well, the dried dates firm up the rhubarb filling and take some of the tartness away.
