Hey. I wasn't the ONLY PERSON in pyjamas. I counted ten. Ten! At 11am!

I got a misogynistic Tweet taken down by a regular real person with wife and daughter.
Something probably knee-jerk like that happens and you see the Real person.
Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

The owner of my English called me last night to sub for a private lesson and LSS, I taught English today to a professional soccer player of FC Tokyo team. He is planning on going to Europe to play somewhere there. I asked him if heading the ball hurts and he said yes. That's when I taught him the word "concussion."

I have never liked my voice, it has a weird nasal undercurrent that I hate. So I blew off seriously thinking about radio as a career. Also, I have a distinctly Teutonic surname (multi-syllable, easily targeted), so politics was never really serious for me. And now, thanks to BCB, it occurs to me that Mary Louise Kelly is a full time host on national public radio, and SOME MOTHERFUCKER NAMED HICKENLOOPER is mounting a serious Presidential campaign.

You could have been ahead and of your time but you blew it. :P :)

Yesterday morning I woke up to the sound of chickens clucking. They sounded happy, like they were being fed, as opposed to being terrified of a fox in the henhouse.

But I had no hair. Don't even have a comb
I'm a big fat liar and I hate myself

One of my colleagues has just told me that I look ‘almost glamorous ‘ today. All I can think of is that I brushed my hair this morning...

I’ve always thought Brazil nuts were the greatest nuts but since discovering macadamia nuts, I now know what a really great nut is. Jesus. Fantastic.

Walnuts are the best. Pickled, obviously.

True story, sometime in the late 80s in Seattle my Japanese wife and I went on a double dinner date with our old Chinese friend Martin and his new girlfriend, a very nice and refined white woman from Nashville. Somehow we got to chatting about our favorite nuts. My wife said she liked cashews, Martin said his favorite, I said peanuts, and then. without a whit of shame or hesitation Martin's, girlfriend said that she liked "n***er toes." I had never heard of "n***er toes" and the lady from Nashville didn't know another term for the nuts; she said she'd always called them "n***er toes." Soon we realized she was talking about Brazil nuts. And now, onto you, old BCB friend and rival, I pass this image. Enjoy your Brazil nuts.

It’s what comes straight into my head anytime Brazil nuts are around. I can’t say I grew up saying it, but it was certainly common usage.

Wow, I guess I can't unlearn that. Horrible.

Macadamia nuts are indeed the bomb. As are cashews.

Macadamia nuts are mad expensive, though.

I heard that term growing up as well. The Brazil nut is Rebecca's favorite. Our local food co-op is the only place in town she can get them in bulk. In fact they aren't easy to find without being grouped with other nuts. I like Macadamia nuts but a little goes a long way due to the large amount of oil in them. My favorite is pecans though I enjoy all the nuts including the legumes rhat masquerade as nuts. Pecans from my mom's tree are the best I've ever had.

These traditional Swedish cakes are nowadays called chocolate balls, for obvious reasons, but you do still sometimes hear old people refer to them as "n****r balls". And when I looked it up just now I saw that the name was only officially changed by the Swedish Academy in 2006.

Image

They're soft balls of cocoa, sugar, oats and butter and are really good if they're done right, though there's a tendency to cover them in pearl sugar instead of coconut flakes, or just overdo the sugar content and make them a bit sickly-sweet.

My 97-year old father-in-law has been living with us for almost a month now. For the past few days he's has a cold and has been spending the nights constantly coughing up phlegm and basically sounding like he's dying. I had to help B move him in his bed yesterday evening, 'cause he's not strong enough to move himself, and he was moaning and his dentures were chattering and jesus christ I know we're doing right by him, but I want my fucking house and my life back.

That's tough. Harv. You're of course spot on that you're doing right, but of course you want your house and life back, and those two things both make perfect sense. Take very many deep breaths.
